    Question A few questions...

    1. What does the "OC" from the Scan 3XS OC-GTS refer to? I.E. Does it refer to overclocking the GTS graphic cards?
    2. Does Scan offer to overclock CPUs? If not, can it be requested?
    3. Does Scan supply a Recovery Disk as appose to a Recovery Software on the storage drive? If not, can it be requested?
    4. Can products be paid in its entirety as oppose to 24/36 monthly payments?

    Many thanks, James.

    BUMP

By the way, I apologise if I sound a little devious because I am new to online shopping. It may not be obvious in my first post, but I am planning to purchase the 3XS OC-GTS! Many thanks again, James.

Sorry that I can't help with your questions but just incase you don't know a lot about hardware I strongly suggest you go to configure and spend that £20 more on "320MB XFX 8800GTS", it will completely wipe the floor with the pre-selected "256MB XFX 8600GTS XXX"

After just a minute on the 3XS pages i'll answer some of your questions.

Yes the OC refers to overclocking, and yes Scan will do this for you. see here:
    http://3xs.scan.co.uk/optimize.asp
(there is a link to this page in the 'Unique features' bar on the right of the 3XS OC-GTS system page)

I don't know wht you assume systems have to payed on finance. Just add to your basket, and checkout as normal using your credit or debit card.

    Apologies for the late reply...

    1. What does the "OC" from the Scan 3XS OC-GTS refer to? I.E. Does it refer to overclocking the GTS graphic cards?
    2. Does Scan offer to overclock CPUs? If not, can it be requested?

We would overclock the Memory, CPU & Graphics card as standard

    3. Does Scan supply a Recovery Disk as appose to a Recovery Software on the storage drive? If not, can it be requested?

We provide a 3XS recovery disk and also the full OS media CD/DVD if the license has been purchased

    4. Can products be paid in its entirety as oppose to 24/36 monthly payments?

We also offer 9 months interest free, so you pay % 10 as a deposit to pay the remaining balance off as a lump sum within 9 months, interest free. As well as the finance options, we can also accept payment via Credit/Debit cards, Cheque or Bacs Transfer.

Hope this answers all of your query's

    Best Regards

Does this mean I can't make a "one-off" payment for my product?
    Many thanks again, James.

As standard would mean the overclocking of the Memory, CPU & Graphics would be done without you having to request it ...

Yes we can accept a one-off payment ...

Please let me know if you have any further queries

    Best Regards

Thank you for the continued support, but I have one (well two, but they virtually mean the same) final question(s):
What are the products overclocked to and why?
    Many thanks again, James.

I discovered that the overclock frequency is determined by sucessive tests until an adaquete life/performance ratio has been located. I hope this helps for other people who are new to overclocking (or not?). Many thanks thus far, James.
