    So far even better

Removed my old drivers and riva tuner (I had my 6800LE pipes unlocked)
installed the card with out too much hassle (just the normal blood sacrifice to teh gods of cheap cases )
And it's all up and running nicely

I've not stuck the ram heatsinks I bought on to the chips yet as the HS&F is covering 3 of them annoyingly.
Still not 100% on that HS&F but I'll run it for a couple of months and see. (in no way is xfx'x HS&F scan's fault)

Now going to fire up city of heroes and see how it copes.

Well 3dmark05 has gone from around 4000 and something (think it was 4490ish) to 7602.

I was getting roughtly 6800GT/vanillia perfromance out of my 6800LE, I could get 14pixel and 6 shader pipes unlocked without problem and a slight over clock to 330/875
I think the main thing holding it back was the 128mb of memory.

Now considering my ASRock motherboard only has a PCI-e x4 slot the performance has been great so far.

City of Heroes is the main MMO that steals my life and whiel it's nearly 3 years old now, it's still quite graphically intensive for an MMO. (also OpenGL based)
Had to do a lot of setting fiddleing with my 6800LE to get it to avarage out at 27ish fps in 1024x768
This 7900GS is copeing with almost every thing at maximum at 45fps at 1280x1024.

    This is the card data

There's a review of the 2 slightly lower clocked ones here they all seem to have the same memory chips (mine are also hynix) and HS&F unit
The One I got was the xxx 600mhz one, looking like a great bargin at £88

My main concern is the same as there's being no direct memory coolingbut that's a thread for another day.
