    qnap network attached storage

i appreciate that you don't sell the qnap ts 109pro (editors choice PCW, good hexus review)-any plans to do so?

The ts 201 seems to have similar features but the information on your site does not expand the specs in the title ie

Qnap TS-201 2 Bay SATA All In One NAS with GbE, USB2, HTTP/FTP/iTunes etc see specs

itunes is not mentioned in the specs!

A double disk system seems attractive what are the differences between this disk and the 109 pro. These boxes seem to do practically everything!-is it just a question of marketing?

Maybe of interest that the QNAPs support DNLA to allow media-streaming to your PS3 (if you have one that is). I am tempted by the Synology NAS range myself because of the support offered in their forums, but they don't support DNLA yet. Although, I understand Sony are working on a non-DNLA solution, so it's a waiting game.

Yes as far as I can see the 109 pro supports streaming to just about anything which is attractive in terms of a home server supplying various computers network devices, PS3, XBox360, Linkstation type device etc. The 109 pro and 109 seem to differ only in terms of software they come with (see hexus review). It is possible that the 201 differs also only in terms of software though the 109 replaced the 101 and it is possible that the 201 will not get these features until replaced by the "209". I'm looking to replace a 120GB buffalo linkstation and have a spare 750GB hard disk on my desk.

Not sure about QNAP NASes (will look into them), but the Synology DS-107 will take a 750GB Seagate drive. Nice!

I've looked further at this and downloaded the 201 manual. It does look like the qnap 109 pro has more features than the 201 and I suspect it's the one I should buy any chance of scan stocking it?
