you are looking at about £100 upwards. i would say just about all of them have a web interface, at least all the ones i've seen anyway. Stay away from the Netgear SC101 if you don't want to install software on each PC that connects to it. It's also windows only.

Sorry, i don't mean a web interface. I mean a HTTP server inbuilt. I know some have them... but are expensive.

Happy to have one without that option though.

Thanks for the reply - but i allready have a hard drive. I only need an enclosure.

I know the Qnap TS-101 has a web server built in. From what i can tell, the Synology units are very similar too, but haven't used them so you'd need to confirm if they have a web server built in.

doubtfull. I don't want to start the Web Server service on my Qnap as i've got Slimserver playing BBC 6Music and don't want to interupt it

According to the front page of the web control software "Web server allows you to set up your own static website".

What you could do though is replace the firmware with an open one. I know the Synology can be hacked open and the firmware replaced. People have done this to get SlimServer running on it. This way you could at least add Perl (required for Slimserver) and get apache to use it. Don't know about PHP, but i guess it's possible too.
