Trusz It's understandable that you're upset, to your mind you've spent a large amount of money and not recieved the service you expected. However, that doesn't mean anything Scan did was wrong, after all as they've posted repeatedly, the rules are in place and clearly posted and they acknowledge that whilst the online ordering system doesn't prevent you placing the order (which you can only understand the reasoning if you program websites), they say they did call you giving you two options.

I hope you come to understand this happening and it doesn't put you off using a pretty decent e-tailer.

it might be an idea to offer 1st class post for small items like cables etc. Just a thought as I got stung by forgetting to order a couple of Sata cables with my Optical Drives (My own fault) and had to order stuff that whilst I might need in the future I don't need right now but £5.99 was a little steep for P&P for a couple of Sata Cables.

Then if the service is the same, why would you prefer to pay for postage if you can get it free??

Maybe he means he pays for the pre 9am delivery which will be cheaper than usual as the standard delivery charge (which you get free) is subtracted from the pre 9am charge.

Hey, stop picking on me for my academic disadvantage

How dare I try and haggle £6 from a massive company, or any one to be honest! <REMOVED>! As a Brit, it is standard, you must roll over.

    I've certainly learnt my lesson!

    trusz,

Also please note that any form of swearing will not be tolerated on not just this sub forum but the Hexus forums in general therefore it would be recommend to edit the post above.

    Re: Free carriage disappointment

It is the only PC computer company that I know of that even offers it. You should see it as a gift. A lot of companies will start charge you delivery even after you have spent thousands of pounds there ...

    I don't get it.

    Re: Free carriage disappointment

Just had an email to say my order was cancelled after speaking to some one this morning, confirming a charge for the carriage would be added and the order completed.

    Apparently it's sorted now.

    The fun never stops.

    Re: Free carriage disappointment

    trusz,

It appears for some reason during the time of the order being cancelled and you requesting us to add the carriage charge on the original invoice the refund was processed and then the order completed therefore a new order would either way need to have been raised by sales team.

As per the conversation we had around 20 mins ago I can confirm that I have raised a new order for you and the goods are scheduled to be dispatched today for tomorrows delivery.

    Re: Free carriage disappointment

I think peeps jumped a bit hard on Truz there. He was only trying to say it would have been a nice gesture if Scan had waved the delivery charge when they noticed his mistake. Seeing as he had spent quiet a lot of money with them recently and this was a small item.

    Anyway all sorted now :-)

Yea it would have been a nice gesture ... but try living in northern ireland the p+p shoots away up and there is no chance of free delivery.

    Re: Free carriage disappointment

seems a stupid argument to me i spent £4 on a cabe you only made about £1 profit on it after packing handling invoicing and you wont give me free postage on it

as people here probably know i have been critical of scan but i think the £20 minimum is set at a good level if i need something small from scan i just add in some optical media or similar to put it over £20 as elsewere delivery can be as much as £10 for a small order
