    Re: Scan order delayed??

Too many orders have been recieved and they haven't been able to ship your order out today. So it will be sent out tomorrow instead.

I got the same email as well, just means we have to be a little more patient as we won't recieve them until Monday now.

hi, I got a the same email today

Surely we should get it delivered for saturday then and not the monday? why should the customer bear the cost of scan making so much money on orders that they can't get them out on the day they charged the customer for???

Delays happen, its not the end of the world. If you want to pay for Sat delivery then Scan won't have an issue with setting this up, But it will cost you £20 for that Sat del.

Because they don't actually promise next day delivery! What they promise is that they use a 24hr carrier service on the day of despatch. All delivery times quoted are estimates.

It's unfortunate that your orders have been delayed and it can be really frustrating. I'm sure Scan will agree that they don't like this happening any more than you do!

It has been explained before why they take money before the day of despatch, basically too many failed card payments and a far too high volume of orders (I believe approx 1000 a day!!!) would rapidly lead to the whole system snarling up if they tried taking payment at point of despatch.

It's happened to me as well and I did think "why me?".

As already stated, you do get good service from Scan - why we stick with them

    Re: Scan order delayed??

Delivery wasn't free I paid for it. I was assured by the salesman on the phone that items were in stock and will be out for today (17th).

So if scan can't guarantee it then maybe they should tell their salesmen/women to stop saying so rather than taking the money under false grounds and then hope that the customer would bear with the delay without any noise. Was I expecting too much as a customer by making my arrangements over the weekend based on this assurance? If so, then I will happily cancel my order and take my money elsewhere.

If scan is getting so many orders that it goes beyond their capacity (and on a regular basis) then surely they need to increase their capacity - its not like the money isn't rolling in is it? Or is it a typical case of a company maximizing margins within the set capacity & overheads at the cost of inconveniencing/lying to few customers?

Frankly, this was a disappointing first time experience and has caused me great inconvenience. I'll speak with scan in the morning and see how great this 'service' really is.

None of my sales team ever gaurantee next day orders this has been made clear many times and all staff in sales have worked at Scan long enough to know this. Sales will say something on the line of " I will mark your order as Urgent which will put you invoice before none urgent invoices this will not garantee next day delivery but give your invoice priority"

Please read other posts and threads on Hexus about Scan expansion you will notice that improvement s are being made on a regular basis, money rolling in as you mention is put straight back into the service to make improvements daily. If we was a company who wanted to maximise margins then why would we bother with Hexus, Scan2Hexus free delivery service, customer care, competitve prices, marketing and many other services we provide in which do not directly make us money?

I would be more than happy to speak to you and get your order sorted

    Re: Scan order delayed??

I asked two simple questions to the salesperson:

Q - "Are all items in stock?"
    A - "yeap"

Q - "Will I get it delivered for tomorrow" (today)
    A - "yeah"

    That was it.

I can see you doing things to improve customer services, having these forums is what made me place my order with you along with the delivery schedule. Perhaps in the meantime you should remove the date selection tool at checkout and just tell everyone you will get it the next day after dispatch. Fair enough at the end of the page, in small font size you mention this - buts that’s after the date picker boldly states:

    "What is Q Delivery?

Q Delivery allows you to choose when you want your order delivered. Choose from the options below to have the delivery fit into your schedule."

Surely you can see how this can be misleading??? How can you state the above if the whole thing is only an estimate - even if you mention this somewhere else???

Anyway, I called up customer services who said my order has been picked and will get to me on Monday - which I mentioned is pointless. So instead, I had to be the mug and pay extra to get it delivered for Saturday because that’s the time I arranged my machine to be built, any other day would cost me more than the extra Saturday delivery.

Also, when cases like this happen when orders go beyond capacity then it would courteous on your part to offer the next best delivery day at your expense including on a Saturday. Would be your true gesture on your part to fit delivery to the customer's schedule when things go wrong.
