Unhappy 3xs pc go boom :(

Hi, I've been enjoying my 3xs system for around 4 months now, everythings been working perfectly, that is... untill last thursday. I came home from work as normal and tried to boot the pc, nothing seemed to happen, so i tried again after checking the power lead was firmly inserted into the psu, it was , so i tried again but with the same effect, only this time I noticed that the fans inside the pc spin maybe once for maybe less than a second before going off again. when I then looked inside the case all the motherboard lights seemed to be light and working as normal but still the pc wouldn't do anything past spinning the fans once or twice :/
After asking a friend about what may be wrong I tried sitting the main psu cables (ones going to the motherboard, G.Cards and hard drives) yet still nothing, anyway after trying to reset the cmos (as per the manual) and anything else we could think of I heard a loud pop, and a nasty smell of electrical fire T_T so I figured it was a good time to stop messing around with it =/ and I haven't touched it since, I was intending to call 3xs/scan yesterday about my problem but, as luck would have it I've lost my voice =/

    Edit :
I am happy to say my pc is all fixed and working perfectly again, The guys at scan where kind enough to fit a new motherboard to my pc while i waited (Which is something i've never seen anywhere else do i had the pc home and set up, the same day i took it in which i find fantasic!

    Wonderful after care!

Thanks again scan (and Ben )

Sorry Raz62 - the Hexus chaps have set a rule up for a minimum number of posts before you can use PMs.... If you can post the details, we'll edit them away for you.

Re: 3xs pc go boom :(

If it helps I was that friend. As per his post, it would cycle on and then off (without coming back on). We tried the mobo cables but it had no effect.

From what I've read on the web the Striker Extreme is a pile of poo reliability wise.

Re: 3xs pc go boom :(

i'm quite happy to report that my pc is all fixed and shiney again ^_^ seems the motherboard poped >.<

Just want to say thank you for your speedy reply and even fixing the system while i waited, which I'm quite thankful for since it is abit of distance to travel to scan.

Thank you again and I will be sure to recomend you to anyone that asks about buying pc parts or infact full systems from Scan/3XS
