ETA on the Thermalright Ultra-120 extreme???

I really like this heatsink specially for its ability to be used fanless which leaves your computer as close to silent as possible... I have the Zalman VF900 which is not audible from where I sit so would make my PC completely silent

    Product Code: LN20112

Some of these models have got curved bases! I hear some people are lapping them to get them flat!

Re: ETA on the Thermalright Ultra-120 extreme???

I'm sure a slightly curved surface won't do any harm to the heatsink's performance as the thermal past is almost as good as the metal itself. If it does do anything it will be so small you wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyway.

I was just wanting to order this next week so hoping some stock comes in soon.

my ultra had a flat base, don't know how it'd get a curve unless its the cpu ihs you mean.

Re: ETA on the Thermalright Ultra-120 extreme???

the curved bases are intentional, you'd need a tool or flat instrument like a razor/ruler to really see the slight curvature.

if you lap the heatsink, you need to lap the CPU IHS too.
