Again though this console is £120 over the RRP - fair enough you get some games with it however if anyone bought a Wii would they purchase the games that was included in the bundle ? I highly doubt it.

This brings us back to the point that no one in the UK has the console only (not in a bundle) for sale for a cheaper price, and although the bundle you have quoted is resonable for what you get it still means that parents have to pay an additional £20 than we are charging so there kids can have a wii for Christmas

As your post was referring we was making parents pay more, the link to the bundle makes no sense as this is a higher price than what we are charging.

Would you expect scan to sell the wii at £179.99 if they had payed more than that in the first place? The choice is still simple if you think the wii is worth £280 and you want one buy it, if you think it worth £180 hang on.

this is the what GBDarkAngel can not understand it is quite simple. Like the customers we had a choice to buy these at a higher price than we previously could of bought them, we made the choice and now sell them and have stock. The customers have the same choice as we did and it is up to them if they want to purchase one.

If you do not buy one because you don't want to pay the price we will respect your decision but we will not go on a forum and moan why you did not purchase it, neither do we contact the suppliers and whing that they are spoiling Chrildrens Christmas. I suggest if you have a problem with the supply of Nintendo Wii's you can email here NintendoServiceCentre@codestorm.co.uk and ask them why they didnt build enough.

Let us look at an example.

Play is selling Wii (UK) Sports Pack Plus 4 Games..The Golden Compass, Looney Tunes ACME Arsenal, The Bigs and Mario Party 8. Retail Price for all that is £319.99 and Play is selling for £299.99..£10 more than Scan but with 4 games and its UK.

Now that Scans motives have been blown out the water and they have indeed been exposed as trying nothing more than to cash in on parents wishes to make their kids dreams come true this xmas will they now drop the price for their Sports Pack to £179.99 the true UK Retail price?

I will not hold my breath for that to happen.

Have a merry xmas Scan safe in the thought that many kids wont.

omg please, quit moaning. its not scans fault the parents didnt work hard enough to pay for a wii at current prices. even if it's their dream so what. either you buy it or you don't. scan probably can't get it at rrp prices don't you think of that? they don't have any hidden motives all it seems is that you just really want to have a go at scan. hey why don't you go get me a wii for £180 then? thats right you can't. so pleaseeee just shut up about it.

Fact is Scan sourced Wii's from Europe and payed over the odds to give its customers a CHOICE.

All you have shown is an alternative Retailer offering an alternative bundle; they do not have stock at the RRP …

To re-iterate we are not the only Retailer who offers this product, the consumer has the choice of where to buy no “Gun to the Head” to “Threats of broken legs” or being berried in a deep hole in the Sahara if they don't buy from SCAN …

The Consumer has the CHOICE... AN OPTION ... FREEDOM OF WILL to spend your cash where you like, many people CHOOSE to spend it with SCAN... Why ... Because we care about the customer and getting things right ….. Who are you to dictate our pricing, we sell thousands of products and you don't complain about the thousands of products we do sell competitively so why this one product – Do you complain about the free carriage we also offer ?

All I can say is that you have to remember we are a Business we could have offered at the RRP but then we wouldn’t have stock as this would be above our buy price so we offer this premium product at a price we can afford, whilst still meeting the extremely low margins we already operate at …

Clearly you are a customer who cannot be pleased and has some sort of negative feeling for Scan,which must run deeper than a price for 1 premium product - if there is anything that you would like to bring to my attention to elliviate your clear dislike for Scan other than Wii pricing please feel free to call in and ask for myself - Christopher Padidar

Failing any change in your opinion I suggest you spend your cash with another Retailer… I am sure they will be more than happy to remove your cash from your pocket.

I can't believe anyone would expect a wii or any other popular Christmas toy/game to not have their prices rasied.

If you were running a business such as this you would do exactly the same thing, whether you just want to take advantage or are forced (such as this situation) by suppliers raising their own prices and limiting stock. Scan have obviously gone out of there way to make a high priced item sweeter by offering extra things free with wii and they are well thought out extra's i'd like to say which would cover a lot of presents (how thoughtful of you scan )

Whilst I agree with scan, surely this would have been better if it was dealt with a simple statement explaining the facts (customers always get arsey) and then locking the thread, rather than getting the ban-hammer out?

But then part of my degree is about resolving conflicts between people and breakdown in communication (management studies haha!)

Wow, while i agree their is a wii monopoly going on currently, all you have to do is wait until demand settles. I've seen so many retailers upping their wii price, it's Christmas. Many large retailers are doing this, even though we know they buy the wii less then the RRP. Im more likely to believe scan than dixons for their cost price of the wii, just wait till Feb every should settle.

If i had a child i would just explain to them that I'm not willing to buy it at the current prices, but i will as soon the price settles.
