    Question RMA waiting game.

    Hello,

I sent my faulty vga card back to Scan in November (RMA *REMOVED*) & received an email on the 16th November stating that it was faulty and had been returned to the suppliers (over 12months old) . I have been in contact several times since then to find out what the hold up is & have been told that they will check & let me know, thus far the only message received was on the 17th December via email saying they would 'find out from the department that handles the supplier returns and as soon as I get a reply I will forward this on to you.' Its now heading towards the 2 month period now & i'm still none the wiser as to why there is hold up on my replacement card, i think i've been reasonably patient so far but i really would like this sorted out.

    Thanks

    Richard.

    Re: RMA waiting game.

Another day passes and no idea when this will get sorted, i really don't want to sound like a total arse but i just get the impression that i contact scan/ scan passes it on to the returns dept/ they email the suppliers/ suppliers do sweet FA..... i contact scan (repeat...) until someone gives the suppliers what for this will go round & round. This is of course only my impression of whats going on, if wrong then please accept my apology, just getting really tired of it all.

    Re: RMA waiting game.

I had a similar experience, Leadtek graphics card died 9 months into the warranty, RMA'd to Scan who tested it, found it faulty but that particular model was now end of line so they said they would have to return it to the manufacturer for replacement or repair, I waited approx 10 weeks then received an email from scan saying the unit could neither be replaced nor repaired I was offered a refund (pro rata) or a new card of equal value, I chose the new card and recieved it a few days later, it was a new XFX card, a model that had only just come on to the market, better features, better clocks and it actually cost more than the Leadtek, so bottom line was I was a happy camper, but the wait was agonising so lucky I had a backup card for those 10 weeks.

Rabbid, The model is a 7900gs 256mb. The problem is RFV my backup card is my brothers old 6800 128mb which he knocked a couple of capacitors off, i soldered them back on but the card is flakey as hell & frequently crashes. 2 months of this is annoying.

yeah mate but my backup card was a 5 year old Nvidia MX200 and was probably slower than your bro's patched up card, I couldn't do any gaming on it but at least I could use the internet ... such things are made to test us.
