Hi,
I have requested an update from XFX for you. I believe last week I mentioned that XFX can take up to 10 working days for the turnaround.
Regards
For what it's worth, I'm in a similar situation to yourself. I requested a RMA a day over three weeks ago. It's been two weeks since my faulty XFX card was sent by Scan back to XFX, nine whole working days have passed since, today will therefore by the tenth. In response to an email, I was informed yesterday morning that they should receive an update for me in the next 24-48 hours; I'm assuming they'll be in touch when they do. Hopefully we'll hear about our respective returns shortly.
edit: The 48 hours went by without word from Scan. I've sent off yet another email, I got a quick but short response back stating they are requesting an update...

have xfx updated you yet, if not can you chase this, i dont want to be told the products now worth even less due to the duration of this ?
Scan, you should drop XFX, they are pants!
Another 24 hours go by without a response. I can't get a straight answer out of Scan's support staff and I'm beginning to get rather frustrated. I've enquired about getting a refund instead as I'd rather go and buy a card now so I can get my system up and running again; no word on that yet. Today will be the twelfth working day in what was supposed to be, at most, ten working days for XFX to verify the fault. It will be four weeks come Tuesday since I requested the RMA. Sorry GoNz0, I don't mean to hijack your thread, if I don't hear from them soon I'll start my own.

strange how i got replys the same day when contacting xfx
Hi,
Please check you hotmail.com e-mail address and reply accordingly to the OLQ.
Regards
nice one, thanks.
i have sent my reply accepting an alternative 8800gtx, if you can get it posted today please
well the rma arrived today in less than perfect condition, the card appears to be 2nd hand at least, the pcb is warped at the edge where the power cables go. the onboard sounder is snapped off, the pci bracket is bent from what looks to be transit damage due to it being packaged in a brown box with no padding to protect the top and not enough padding to stop the card sliding about in the box.
what is for sure is the none transit issues, ie the warped PCB, the missing screw that holds the pci bracket to the card, the staining on the pci bracket looks like some sort of fluid has been used or spilt and left a permenant stain.
need less to say as soon as i opened the box i was on the phone to mark at scan who should be getting me an RMA number and collection arranged as i outright refuse to accept this as a replacement, when the time comes to sell this card its value would be half that of a card in good cosmetic condition such has the card i had to RMA along with all its original packaging. tbh anyone would be mad to buy that as a 2nd hand card, even on ebay!
it has made me angry that scan would try to offload this b grade card as a replacement, (yes the box even has b grade on it, with none of the original accesories with it) its a shame as it sounded like a good plan to allow me to SLI my rig again.
i doubt they can supply me another 8800gtx in good condition along with its original packaging so i hope they can offer a fair price toward an upgrade now as it looks like im going to have to flog my remaining card and go to a GTX280 to get the same performance as my 2 8800's would have done
either way, 3 weeks down the line im now left with a bitter taste in my mouth through this, i just hope there is some sort of a happy ending
infact it is now 5:30pm, scans doors are closing and theres no RMA number in my inbox...
That's poor form on Scan's part, especially if they didn't inform you that you weren't to recieve a new, sealed retail package. When the replacement I was offered could not be found on their website it did make me slightly uneasy; I'm glad I went down the route of purchasing a new card with the refund I recieved, which is why I never raised the issue with them. You may find this interesting: I was refunded £85 + VAT for my 8800GTX.
how old was your card ?
~19 months old.
well mines about half of that, and within the 1st year i would expect more than £85
