How RMA items are tested?

I was wondering how RMA'ed motherboards and RAM are tested? Are all items electrically tested, tested in windows... how?

I had to RMA a motherboard beacuse I would keep getting IRQL error and USB errors. I went through like a million steps to identify the problem (changed ram, graphics card, up ram voltage....) and still I could not get it working. Justed wanted to know what stuff you guys do to identfy faulty motherboards.

Also how long does it take... cos I'm currently checking mail & stuff on my n95 & work.
