Is is possible to change my new headphones?

Hi. I currently own a pair of Creative Fatility headphones, and needed to buy a second pair for use on my Piano. I browsed through the headphones available at scan, and spotted these Sennheiser HD435 ones which are £35 and more expensive then the Creative ones I currently have, so I assumed they would be better, if not at least the same quality as the Creative ones I currently own and bought a pair which just arrived today.

I was completely wrong - These sennheiser headphones are of very poor quality, the sound is a lot lot quieter, with a poor clarity and far too tinny and cheap compared to the cheaper Creative Fatality headset. They sound more like a £10 - £15 set of headphones in comparison to the creative ones I currently own and are no where near what a £35 set of headphones should sound like.

Is it possible to have them exchanged for a pair of Creative Fatility headphones? These are currently out of stock at Scan, but I dont mind waiting, I just dont get why a pair of more expensive headphones sound so much worse then a pair of cheaper ones, I were expecting the opposite to be true - Pay more to get a better sound quality. The Creative Fatality headphones are perfect in terms of sound quality, I just wrongly assumed that more expensive headphones would be better.

I've already opened and tried them, but only for 5 minutes so I dont know if an exchange would be possible, but this is the first time I am requesting one from Scan and they only arrived today.

    The order number is E1216225.

    Thanks for any help.

That is the next model up, I think that by the sound on the ones I have, the HD465 is probably the equivalent model to the Creative Fatality, these HD435 are just tacky sounding.

I wanted to get a Razer Pirhanna headset first, but the microphone didnt look detachable so that was a problem. I dont want to bother with anymore expensive ones if the Creatives are better then the HD435, that makes me think that other £40+ headphones will sound the same as the creative ones.

you can send it back under DSR (within 7working days). Just email them saying that your returning under DSR and you will get a refund but im unsure if you can get your postage back thats all.

(ps: theres a deal on the fatal heatseat on hotukdeals so look there)

Re: Is is possible to change my new headphones?

Yea, I emailed them. Im not bothered about paying to post it back since the Fatalitys are cheaper anyway. I just want another fatality headset, but being OOS I'll just ask for a refund.

Wow, the offer on hotukdeals was £17.07 delivered =D. I dont think you can get better headphones then the Creatives now for below £30.

I'll just re email and ask for a refund on these HD435's.

They said I can have them refunded, but no exchange so I'll just go through the cancellation thing. This makes for my first cancelled order on purchase since I started PC building, and thought that if they are opened they cant be returned, so thats why I asked.

Creative Fatality Gaming Headset is just perfect for the price and sound quality, and the detachable microphone makes them ideal for use with anything other then the PC too. Just as some advice for anyone else, dont bother going for another sub £40 headphone set if you want the best sound quality, I think the next decent ones would be the HD465 and Razer Pirhanna which cost around £45.

Re: Is is possible to change my new headphones?

Yea its sorted. I have it repacked with the RMA number on three slips of paper to make it easy to find in the stuff it came in, the city link bag needed lots of tape to reseal, but I am always careful opening the bubble wrap because I like it left intact for popping =D. Well, not for popping, but I save it all for future use and Scan gives me loads of bubble wrap. But maybe some of it gets popped...

    *Pop* *pop* *pop*.

Some people think that you cant get better headphones then the Creative Fatalities unless you spend a lot lot more, but from reviews it seems that the Razer Pirhanas are just as good, but more expensive and a stuck on mic. Gaming headphones > music headphones.

Very impressed at the way this has worked, I've never tried to return anything other than broken items, nice to see an easy result.

Don't be *too* impressed, Sammie. Scan aren't doing this put of the goodness of their heart, it's a legal requirement under the DSR laws.

PS I too saw those fatality 'phones on hduk. Ordered a set.

PPS I refuse to use a 1 to replace an i unless it's ironic.

I got a pair of HD 212PRO Senheisser headphones, they are gorgeous, loud, deep just a joy to listen on, so comfortable too, and cut out a lot of sound, meaning i find myself accidentally shouting.

Re: Is is possible to change my new headphones?

I sent the headphones back on Recorded first class, Royal mail track and trace say they were delivered on the 28th feb, but customer services say that they havnt yet recieved it.

What do I do now? They told me to obtain proof of delivery from Royal Mail, but I though that the track and trace was meant to be the proof of delivery?

Oh, I have the reciept, I'll just try email them a picture of it.
