Oh and are their any/much differance between all the manufacturers?
I ordered a 512MB Gigabyte HD 4770 GFX Card from Scan yesterday. I think it came in and went out of stock again within 24hrs
I read that the Gigabyte one has better than stock cooler, but I think 4770 cards are mostly the same which ever brand you go with. Accessories, guarantee and after sales support are the main differences when you choose a different brand.
I didnt particularly want the Gigabyte, I had been checking the webste everyday for a week or so and just bought the first 4770 that came in stock
The 4770's are in short supply hence why the 4850's are being reduced at a lot of places.
Intel i5 2500k @ stock
Thermalright SI-128 (Bolt-through)
Asus P8Z68V/Gen3
2x8Gb DDR3
ASUS GTX 670 DirectCU II 2Gb
Thanks for the replies. Looks like I'll just go with whichever I can get hold of then.
Don't suppose anyone from scan might know when any of the 4770's are back in stock?

Novatech are doing 4850 from £88 and the 4870 from £105.

I can see 4850's for £75 (inc vat) and 4870's for £99 (inc vat), but not from Scan. Havent yet seen any 4770 for less than £80 (inc vat).

So would you go for the 4870 then? or pocket the £20 and go for the 4770?
Knowing my luck all my new stuff won't fin in the case and the psu won't be up to the job lol
Well, the 4870 outperforms the 4770 by about 20%, so if you want some power, go for the 4870, but I went for the 4770 mainly because I plan to buy a Silverstone Sugo, and the lower temps from the 4770 will be of great benefit in a smaller case.
It all depends what you want.
