Very disappointed and upset with Scan

I posted here on the forum almost two weeks ago asking 'Is my warranty with Scan or with the manufacturer?' (http://forums.hexus.net/scan-care-he...ufacturer.html).

Well, since then things have gone perfectly to plan and my replacement BluRay drive was received today - less than 48 hours after Scan received the return!

So, why I am very disappointed and upset with Scan?

Well, because Scan are SO DAMN GOOD AT CUSTOMER SERVICE that I'm loathe to use any other retailer for my IT needs. Not only do they address your concerns, but the RMA process is as finely tuned as a Switch timepiece. WHY CAN'T OTHER RETAILERS be so reliable and professional ...

Well done Scan! A big thanks from me for your fine service.

rub it in vs. my two - three week issues with ebuyer which wont even be solved.. .

Should have gone to specsavers... I mean scan.

lol, figured I had one when scan did that 20 GD65 "overtime" offer :'( could have got one... should have got one..

    - 1 motherboard.
    - 55% offer
    - 2/3 weeks of time
    - £10-£20 of phone bills lol.

    +1 for always using scan.

Good to see you got your issue resolved

Re: Very disappointed and upset with Scan

I too was pleased with the RMA procedure of Scan that I used last week.

They sent a courier to pickup the item from home, and it probably has the advantage of working out cheaper for Scan than having to refund the customer who used Royal Mail.

Turn around was prompt and received replacement three days later.

The only part of the RMA criteria I didn't like was the description of sending the item back
YOUR RMA WILL BE REJECTED IF YOU DO NOT ENSURE IT IS VERY CAREFULLY AND ADEQUATELY PACKAGED, USING SIMILAR METHODS TO THE ONES WE USED ORIGINALLY
As the item was received in the City Link bag, so I lost a day sourcing a suitable sized box. But it's an acceptable requirement, just I was caught out by not having any packaging available.

Not sure the 5 days wait for the refund is scans fault, its usually the bank or card company you used fault. They take alot longer to accept than deduct, quite odd really. Although your original issue of the refund not being processed is pants. Did they give any reason?

Re: Very disappointed and upset with Scan

when i got a refund for a faulty 4890 it took about a week before the funds started the process of going back to my card, scan said the reason for the delay was it goes to the accounts department to be processed after the returns department had accepted the rma

Maybe they have 'gag' alerts on some customers meaning they are aloud to torment for a giggle. Who knows! My dealings with scan have not been too rosey either. I've had some great customer service and some pretty rubbish service, but I accept this as normal for any company.
