    Product Question: Magic Storage Bridge

    Hello,

Could someone confirm whether this product comes with a 44Pin 2.5" PATA to 40 pin adapter?

I need to connect a 2.5" notebook HDD (PATA) to my PC to format it as it's unresponsive in laptop. So would appreciate confirmation on whether this is the right product and whether it comes with all necessary cables, etc.

    Cheers

This shows all the cables that the device comes with and I'm pretty sure that the cable at the bottom left is the one your referring to isn't it?

Thanks Lee - looks like it but there's no easy way to tell whether it's a 40 or 44 pin connector or what it actually is - any chance you could double check for sure what it is? Would appreciate it.

If you can confirm that the product is suitable for connecting the PATA HDD as per the details in the first post that'll be helpful.

    Smasher,

I've checked this and the product comes with a 2.5" Harddrive adaptor. So you will be able to use this for your laptop harddrive.

Re: Product Question: Magic Storage Bridge

    Hi folks

It's arrived although there aren't any corresponding female connectors on the 40/44 pin adaptor for the (4 pin) power to the drive and the drive therefore isn't working.

The drive has a 4 pin block (arranged 2x2) for power and there isn't anything on the adaptor or in the box that fits - advice would be great

EDIT - ignore that - I was looking for a corresponding connector for the specific 4 pins on the 2.5" drive that were left unconnected to anything. Just connected power cable from adaptor to the magic bridge port and drive is working now. As if by magic!
