They won't, don't worry about that. Not anything worth worrying about anyway.

Maybe come back in 3 years?

    Re: SSD Recommendation

Went into Scan store to purchase the X25-M but was disuaded by the sales assistant and was persuaded to buy the OCZ OCZSSD2-1VTX96G stating it was a much faster drive and recommended by the 3XS team:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/96GB-...Cache-17K-IOPS

I haven't installed it yet because I feel I've made the wrong purchase and was looking to return it. There are also no reviews of the drive.

    Any suggestions?

    Re: SSD Recommendation

I'm a bit confused by that.

It's the original Vertex, with the Indilinx controller... not a SandForce (which would outperform the Intel). As far as I'm aware, it wouldn't outperform the Intel Gen2 drives. Admittedly it's a bit bigger than the 80GB Intel, but then it's more expensive as well.

Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

They may be having trouble shifting this drive?

    Re: SSD Recommendation

Possibly. Don't want to accuse Scan of outright lying, and I'm not going to - but that claim makes no sense as far as I'm concerned.

No comment from them yet either as to why they recommended it - that could at least shed some light on the situation
