    Unhappy A8N-SLI Sound Problem

    Hi, This is my 1st self build had a few probs,thanks for helping me. I've Developed a sound problem, PC been ok since tuesday. Here goes-
    Green(lime) port is not making any sound it worked ok up until yesterday.
    Tested speakers-ok.
    Plugged headphones direct in green port- no sound.
    Reinstalled driver for Realtec-did't solve prob.
    Try 2 channel, 6 channel and headphones settings on 6 channel I get sound on all speakers except front 2(got 6 channel speakers- 5.1).
    On the connector sensing panel it shows 2 powered speakers connect to Green port which is correct.
    Any ideas? Last thing i want is to send board back to Scan, been waiting since 5th jan for this board.
    Cheers..................

    Have you tried the latest nforce4 drivers from Nvidia as these have a better interface ( read nvidia mixer as opposed to the realtek horrid one )

    The speaker configuration wizard in the new drivers has also been improved so this might be able to fix it

    Is it a 5.1 setup - because if it is give me till about 6 tonight while I pop home from work and check which ports are in use on my speakers.

    Best Regards,

    Lee

    right mine are plugged into the following ports ;

    orange plug -> grey socket
    black -> orange socket
    Green -> Green Socket

    I've ran the usual 5.1 tests and it all sounds fine with the subwoofer going "boong" when the test is ran.

    Fingers crossed this helps you

    What speaker system are you trying to pair up with the A8N motherboard?

    Best Regards,
