1. CPU ... alright, first of all I would like to see some Wolfdales E8400 in stock very soon.So.. What would you like to buy?
2. CPU Cooler ... then I am interested in the Zalman CPNS8700-NT (not the LED version)
3. RAM ... what about the GeIL 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400 800MHz Black Dragon ?
Please let us know if you could get any of these please ...
I am just waiting for the CPU to arrive, and once you can deliver this little item, I can then place an order for all the other components:
• PC case.................Silverstone Sugo Evolution SG01S.........£ 92.83
• Graphics Card.......BFG GeForce 8800 GT 521MB...............£ 158.50
• HDD.......................Western Digital 1000GB WD10EACS......£ 133.94
• Motherboard.........Asus P5E-VM HDMI.............................£ 83.41
• PSU........................Silverstone ST50EF-Plus-SC................£ 58.74
• CPU........................Intel Wolfdale E8400...........................£ 139.81
• RAM.......................GeIL 4GB (2x2) PC2-6400 800MHz........£ ??.??
• CPU Cooler..............Zalman CNPS 8700-NT.......................£ ??.??
I wouldn't expect the RAM. Scan reps have said quite a few times around this board there is no interest in different RAM.
Thirded
Be aware that some of the sellers in the uk that are quoting stock and selling this item then actually sending out HD321KJ! One of the websites even said (Model Number May Vary!) The only place i've found them is a german company, that you can purchase through a uk website but they are overpriced at £66. I've filled up 2 machines with 4 of these drives each and it was expensive but worth it. Probably the best drives i've ever bought. 4 of them generate more heat and noise than one, but it's quiet reasonable (better than my last 3 drive system). I have concerns about the platter quality, and they only come with a 3 year warranty but overall i think they are the best drives around.
Btw, if your thinking Raid 0 - it isn't worthwhile in my opinion as you get 0 realterm speed gains and if one of your drive dies your in major trouble. Far better to have small (10% partitions) at the start of each drive, give each partition a fixed size swap (let C: have the lowest priority and smallest swap) and split your windows, program files, TEMP, User folders across the partitions and then defrag them to optimize the swap position, that way you can increase the data supplied on the sata bus as windows can read and write and access the most used areas on the seperate drives at the same time (well sometimes, it is micro$oft remember!).
I've seen the HD322HJ at Tekheads, but I have no idea how good their service is.
Another product which will find its buyers: Antec Three Hundred.
And another shout samsung HD322HJ, do you have a lead time on these drives? I also saw them at another couple etailers
GeCube HD3870 X-Turbo III O.C. Edition . i wanna grab another for Xfire, but noone seems to stock em in the UK
