Much as I'd love to tell you and make you look even MORE of a fool I cannot. Its not helpful if people in my position are seen on forums like this.

But, even ignoring that.... What evidence do you have (the answer is "NONE") that they have an agreement NOT to stock the same items? You think that they do but thats not the same. TS might make a phone call and ask Scan/OCUK why they don't stock XYZ but all the companies need answer is that they don't want to stock that product and thats the end of it. There is no evidence that distributors are refusing to sell to either company. All there is here is the derided ramblings of someone who is irritated because he cannot find two sources of the same product so he can choose the cheaper one.

Maybe those two companies DONT WANT to compete - there is no law that says they HAVE to. The only laws are against price fixing (ie agreeing a price for an item) but if they choose not to compete.

Oh hell I am repeating myself becauses it so damn obvious.

And finally, the reason Scan never comment on this is that apart from the Raja's (owners) no-one else is authorised to discuss this and much as employees have told me on the phone how they'd love to post here when people post crap they are not allowed to.

My advice, WJA, "Quit while you're behind!!!"

Is that true? Then maybe thats why they have gone so cheap now at overclockers.

These G. Skill HZ ones still use Micron D9, but they are too expensive at £70 a pair.

Alternatively, if you live in the US, check out these Hynix chips sold by supertalent at $20 per 1 Gb stick:

STT pc 5300 Chips Hynix is new entry in the Club 700mhz - XtremeSystems Forums

They go up to 1400 Mhz on 5-5-5-21 timings

I've been looking for them everywhere on UK sites, but they arent sold anywhere

Another review page on them here:

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

Dunno about cloths though. Just use an old rag or sock.

Why dont you stock the Antec Quattro power supplies? The 850 especially.
    or the Thermaltake Toughpower 750.?

I am finding your choice on value for money good quality psus very limited. I am trying to spec a system build and I would buy either of those. Its annoying you dont stock them.

Woah, didn't reliase they sold the TIM remover. Would have saved me ALOT of time. Ah well, what's done is done.

However what about the tuniq tower 120? Prefrably with the LED fan . I want to order it within a month or so and the only place I can find it is overclockers.co.uk.

Re: SCAN2HEXUS : Recommend products to us :)

Well, they do have the whole Asus, Zalman and Scythe CPU cooler range, so thats not as bad as the ram

If they are allowed to stock different brands of PSU's on top of Corsair ones, why cant they stock different brands of ram?

Brand loyalty puts me futher off buying that brand, and Im not really very keen on corsair in the first place tbh.

loyalty's never good for the customer anyway. if I was still loyal I'd have paid for a phenom which gives less performance than a q6600 for the money. always get the best performance for price.

Yea exactly. My last intel CPU was a pentium 100. Since then I've always had AMD because they performed better. Now after 8 years of using AMD, I've gone back to Intel because their core 2 duo's are far better.

As for corsair ram, their basic 800 mhz stuff is well priced, but you have to pay an arm and a leg for the best dominator stuff which is what put me off them in the first place. First time I saw dominator ram I thought Wow! Want!. Then after looking at the prices I thought what is the point paying that much when I can get G. Skill or OCZ for less and just overclock it to the same level?

Like look at these: 2x1 Gb Corsair, 1142 Mhz, £234.

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

I have no Idea why I would want to buy them when I can get any of the following for less:

    Kingston 2x1 Gb 1200 mhz - £93.99 (or 1150 Mhz for £73)
    Kingston HyperX 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-9600C5 1200MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX9600D2K2/2G)

Good old crucial ballistix tracers, £58.74
    Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel Kit (BL2KIT12864AL1065)

    Or G. Skill 2x2 Gb 1066 mhz for £116
    4GB G.Skill 1066MHz DDR2 Dual Channel Memory Upgrade Chips 8-layer PCB

And I thought scan were meant to be cheap. Well where is my good enthusiast level but cheap ram? Oh wait, its on overclockers o.O.

Also I eventually refused to buy the Corsair memory cooler because it has no lights and I had to get an alternative from overclockers!

    Antec SpotCool System Cooler

I also found an OCZ memory cooler with bright blue lights elsewhere, but I went for this antec one because I can clip it anywhere I like.

I'm going to screw it to an empty drive bay and position it over my ram.

Re: SCAN2HEXUS : Recommend products to us :)

So I noticed that scan do stock supertalent ram.

How about getting in some of their cheapo Hynix chips that can scale up to 700 Mhz?

I've linked it all over the place, I cant be bothered looking for the link again.
