When are you getting the new squeezebox in?

Is there a delay on these David? I note you still don't have stock and that position seems to be widespread across all retailers (a few have white wireless in stcok but not black ??)

We are getting a decent number in of all versions so there should a plenty left even after the back order allocation.

Nightmare, but thats just the same with any HDD based MP3 system. The positives far outway using CD's or an ipod (which is at greater risk). It's definatly worth making regular backups if you dont have the orginal CD's for re-ripping. I will be ordering a new HDD when i order mine for extra peice of mind.

I see that the squeezebox 2 (and I'm specifically looking for the wired version) is still on your website. Will you get more of those in or have they actually been phased out in favour of version 3?

I very much doubt they will be getting any version 2's in as they have stopped production now, but if you want a version 2 eBay would be a good place to look now the 3 is out. But there is a cheaper wired version of the 3 and the wifi version has an enthernet connection also.

Slimdevices are still selling them on their website, so their must be a few left. I'm not that bothered about looks and just want the functionality which makes the 2 a financially much more interesting option. I already have a wireless 1 and the new box is going somewhere just next to a network socket. As for Ebay, last night a wired squeezebox 1 went for £96 + £10 shipping...that's just £20 short of a brand new 2!

They are just shifting surplus stock, production has stopped. This was posted officially on their forums. The costs involved from buying it from the US will probably make it not worthwhile. Wait a bit longer and eBay will be better once a few people have upgraded to the 3.

I'm going to get a 3 from the living room and a couple of secondhand 2's - one for a bathroom mod and one for the bedroom.
