    Question Xfx 7600gs 512mb

    Hi, i saw a post on the forum saying that this card would be in stock in a few day, but that was about 2 weeks ago. So i was wondering if anyone knows when it will be in?

    If so, these were due to arrive on the 24th but as yet have not arrived or been booked in I'm afraid.

    As yet - theres no update on these from XFX.

    Hi there.
    I thought it would only be fair to point out to you that, if you are considering it for gaming, there will be absolutely no benefit whatsoever from the extra 256 MB over the regular version, and you would be wasting your money.
    The 256MB version at £66 is a very good card. £95.18 for the same level of performance is not.

    Sorry Scan guys, not trying to lose you money, but we all know that "512MB" at this level is pure marketing and no real world benefit.

    Yes a 7600GT can be had from other retailers for under £95 which is a better card

    I agree

    512mb of video memory is a waste. Any game setting that needs that much texture memory the core couldn't play at a decent frame rate anyway.

    Thats right, the card isn't powerful enought to utilize 512mb of memory. I have an x1800xt and there is almost no improvment in performance between the 256mb and 512mb version at a resolution of 1280x1024.
