No post with gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 in Dual memory config

Hi, im getting just one long continous beeps when placing my 2 ram sticks (Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C5 TwinX (2x1GB) ) into either of the dual sockets. It posts with just one stick in slot 1, and also with both stick in slots 1+2.

ive tried ungrading the bios from F5 to F7, upping the memeory voltage upto +0.5v, manually setting memory speeds, and also disableing Legacy USB storage support, but still no post,

so right now im installing XP with the sticks in slot 1 and 2,

any help or is the MB faulty?

    Thanks,
    Richie

Technically, it should not matter but, did you try slots 2+4? Also, just to be thorough, can you list the rest of your system specifications, especially the PSU. And, can you test each module with www.memtest.org with the timings set manually and the voltage at +.3.

Scan havnt yet got back to the inquiry,
but testing the memory with Memtest and the config by yellowbeard gave both memory sticks passed a few times error free.
This was testing one at a time in slot 1 and in slots 1+2 since the comp doesnt post in any other combo.

any ideas is the MB duff?

    Thanks Peeps

Actually, your power supply may be a bit on the small side. Since you see errors with 2 DIMMs yet they both test fine individually, your problem might be power related. At this point, I do not suspect the memory.
