    30 day returns policy

Ok I would like to know where I stand with the 30 returns policy.

The story goes like this, trying to be a swift as possible.

    On 18/11/06 I ordered the following: -

    ABit AB9 Mobo
    C2D E6400
    XFX 512MB 7950GT XT
    2Gb Corsair VS 533 memory.
    Enermax 480W PSU

    I received it on 25/11/06

Now after having loads of issues it was thought that the GFX card was faulty. After RMA'ing it Scan reported NFF but did inform me of compatability issues with the XFX 7950 and the AB9. ABit deny ever hearing of these incompatabilities but anyway. Obviously due to the time of year etc this took almost two weeks, I still have not received my refund yet but that is clearly down to the holiday period and not an issue as long as it comes through soon in the new year.
I decided it was best to forget the XFX in case the reports were true and went for the Leadtek 7950GT instead. I received this card on 19/12/2006 and preceeded to check it out.
Well to cut a long story short it seems that the problem is now possibly a memory issue. Hope to clarify this at the weekend with the help of a friends components.

Now my question is, where do I stand if I want to return the AB9 Pro for a different board as there seems to be quite a lot of niggly issues with it. Now in total I have had almost the 30 days and especially when I cannot RMA until the new year it will be well over. But due to waiting and testing time I have not actually had a PC working since I sent the GFX card for RMA on 11/12/06

That was not as swift as I was hoping it would be.

    What are you talking about????

If you read my first post I said I would make this as swift as I could (as in the description of the problem)

So my second post was commenting on my inability to make my description quick.

Do you really think that I expected a response that quick when both posts have post times as identical.

i think you got 7Day return for a refund (unused i think) ,But as you have used it longer than that. Don't know?
Not sure about the 30Day as i understand it you can get a refund but only if the mortherboard was broken within the 30Day. Else they will replace it or fix it
But mabye you should have tested the other item when you thought the graphics card was broken
A lot of problems 99% time comes drown to Memory.
I have build a few system with almost same things and all of them work out of box 100%

I think if you submit the RMA/return ticket within your 30 days you should be fine, even if it does not get issued until the New Year, worth doing, even if you do decide to keep the board, you can just cancel the request later

    Ok cheers

Well the testing I did with the GFX card was pretty much conclusive. I put my XFX in my friends almost identical setup and he got the same corruptions I had. I put his Leadtek into my setup and the problems dissapeared. That was pretty much conclusive I thought but Scan said NFF.

Think you could be right, are they closed now or just not processing orders?

    RAYK47,

Under current Distance Selling Regulations you have a right to reject goods starting with 7 working days after the delivery.

Scan Computers will provide a refund with an item confirmed FAULTY within 30 days.

If you log a query now and you are entitled to a refund, this WILL still apply when we re-open.

    Wesley

Cheers John, I should know tonight if the memory is at fault so I will still have time to log an RMA. The AB9 is a pain in the harris so I was thinking of returning that also, in all honesty I am starting to think that this board is the cause of all my problems.
