Recommended 775 cpu fan for Asus P5B motherboard

Hi guys,

i've never used Scan before but as some members swear by the company i thought i'd try you out.

I am after a cpu fan that makes absolutely no noise or the least noise possible. I have had a Zalman fan before and it was great it barely made any noise. I was told though that i have to check to see if the fan can be installed on my motherboard, i've searched high and low for Zalman's website but it doesnt seem to be working.

So could somebody recommend me a decent cpu fan that makes the least noise possible and can be physically installed on an Asus P5B motherboard.

zalman although good are a bit pricy , get the arctic cooling freezer 7 pro - drops temps by 19c , and very quite. cant go wrong really.

I'm using a sycthe infinity tower. Apparently you can go fanless with this as the airflow in your case will be enough. I use a 120m fan that came supplied that I can't hear at all. So it's up to you really.

Another vote for the Arctic Cooler - great coolers, always use them on both S775 and AMD64.

Not heard a Zalman but the AC7, like most coolers, is quite noisy on full revs. Providing you use fan control then it is very quiet and only revs up for intense games etc. For any quieter cooler though you need to pay a lot more than the £15 the AC7 goes for and also the cooler is a generally quite a bit bigger (e.g. Zalman, Scythe, Tuniq).
The AC7 is a very good compromise of price/noise/cooling.

It is noisey at the top speed naturally , but with the P5B i use the q fan control so that it runs at 1200rpm rather than the top speed of 2800. It then becomes practically silent, but Still keeps my cor duo nice and cool at 44c

Its so quiet - if you get some ram and remove your viruses your pc wont have to work so hard therefore it will run better and quieter

the freezer 7 pro is the quitest air cooler out there (tests have proven it) if you want quiter go water cooled but then that will set you back at least a hundred to get the same cpu temps this fan does for less then £15.
