Cool XFX 6600 GT - silent fan suggestions

Got a Geforce 6600 GT from Scan when they had the amazing deal on them a while back but the fan is dying a slow, painful, noisy death....

What can I get to replace it that's silent? Someone mentioned the Zalman VF700 Cu but think you need to hack it apart to fit it?

Anything suitable in stock Mr Scan?

not sure what you mean by hack it apart but if the fan is failing then anything you want to fit to it will require you to remove the stock cooler.

both the zalman vf700 and vf900 are great coolers with the 900 being quite a bit better than the older 700 although a 700 would easily cope with a 6600 just fine.

the vf900 isn't compatible with the 6600 AGP - Scan have a pre order on the 700 until 30/01

I could do with getting a new cooler on my 6600gt but probably won't..
I'll just get a new graphics card instead. xD.

I have the Zalman VF700 Al-cu strapped to the side of my XFX 6600GT. Almost inaudible, but large, I had to slice a hole in the side of my shuttle to fit it in.
It fit on the card perfectly though (AGP version, but same dimensions).
Something had to be done, the stock fan noise was horrendous!

Oh, and it runs cooler too!
