Your best purchase from a fellow Hexite?

With Chrimbo fast approaching I thought it'd be nice to have a thread which embodied the great spirit and goodwill in the Hexus Shopping forums I've dealt on a few forums on the net, none of which come anywhere near the superb community on here.

What's been your best / favourite purchase from a Hexite through these forums?

Re: Your best purchase from a fellow Hexite?

    Well I'll go first...

Mine was a Dell 2005fpw widescreen TFT, bought from Kempez back in January 2006, nearly 2 years back!

    http://forums.hexus.net/classifieds-...early-new.html

It was my first, and only, widrescreen monitor, still going strong to this day. Agreed on a great price with Kempez, met up with him in Southampton to pick it up, and have been a very happy bunny ever since. It's a superb monitor, looks great in my office, and I have no plans to change it any day soon.

I don't think Kempez posts here much any more but he was a great chap.

    Thanks Kempez!!

My best (and only) purchase was an old FX 5900, flashed to a FX5950 bios. Sure it artifacts like hell going from 2D to 3D mode but it saved me from facing single digit frame rates in WoW and all for £25

Probably my 2x512MB of BH-5 RAM from Ben_UK at the (at the time) bargainous price of £60.

Although my X800Pro @ X800XT from BeaNN and NF7-S v2.0 from Buff are both still going well too!

I seem to buy everything from users beginning with 'B'

I bought most of my watercooling setup from Mullet, very pleased with everything, great price and a great guy tbh.

Re: Your best purchase from a fellow Hexite?

Coolermaster CM210 case with azure door from Ikonia. Still love the case for appearance, and am contemplating how to retro-fit enough blowholes to allow effective cooling of a C2D/8800GT system while maintaining the sleek lines.

A 9500NP from Rave that bios-modded to a 9700, and clocked up well past 9700Pro speeds when fitted with an Arctic Cooler with only minor chequerboarding. Still using it today, albeit at 960x600 resolution in games as I doubt it'd like the native res of my Dell 2405 with anything written after 1999!

    Medion Sim2000 laptop from Ady168uk.
It was one of those little 'laptops for £300'.......remember? Bought it at a good price almost 2 years ago, still using it every day.
