    Re: Disgusted with www.overclockers.co.uk

Sorry to hear some of you have had problems with Overclockers Uk..I am also having problems with them.

My pc has been running perfectly fine until a few weeks ago when i switched it on and all i got was the fans spinning around for a few seconds then it would reset its self.It turns out my motherboard was the problem so i send it back RMA to overclockers uk to test and hopefully send me a replacement.I have bought items from them before and they always have done a great service but this was the first time i have sent anything back RMA.

Much to my surprise it came back within a few days although that surprise was nothing to the one when i read the letter they had sent back with it.

They claim the reason the motherboard could not be tested was the the cpu sockets pins where bent which voids their warrenty and their is nothing else they can do.Well i always look after my gear so as you can imagine i was a little annoyed about this.!! If it was my fault then fair enough but to return it back to me and say the pins where bent which they wasent when i sent it to them is outrageous.I would have rather they had said they didnt want to send me a new motherboard then this.Out of all the different compaines i have ever dealt with(which is quite a few) i have never been treated like this before and it is a something i am not going to simply forget.

To added insult to injury they have said they have charged me £10+ for looking at it and the cost of postage.!!!

I bought a PSU from them and when fitted I noticed that the fans did not turn. I called them to be told "It's normal they only turn when its hot" Strange that when I called the manufacturer they said it is faulty and needs replacing. Luckily the manufacturer was happy to deal with me direct so the problem was resolved easily and quickly.

this sums up overclockers perfectly they are ok until theres a problem And then bam ALWAYs buyers fault. If you are sure it wasn't you then - go back and demand they sort ou the damaged goods they supplied. You can download small claims court forms - they probably won't repair board until forced too & you may have to follow through with the threat re SCC. But its only carelessnes that damages a skt775 unit & if you feel sure you weren't careless sue them1

often yes you really do need to do that. Such a pile of crap, if it turned up at all thats proof of postage right there. not that difficult to put 2 and 2 together, we have a box, it arrived via post.......... hmm, yes thats proof.

In general when i worked at overclock.co.uk(before they were bought out, not a clue how they are now) we would STRONGLY suggest everything is sent back via royal mail special del for several reasons. Firstly, best guarenteed service in the uk plus the stuff would arrive early giving us longest possible time to test stuff same day and get it sent back out. Also special del has the price of postage right there on the label, I'd get the packages from the royal mail van and log them in right there and then onto the system and log the postage cost so it can be refunded. We never gave issue with refunding delivery on anything found not working. Rarely found any issue with rma, most went through fine and as quickly as we could. Generally replaced out of stock and good relationship with certain suppliers made this easier as they'd replace with new stuff we could sell so we wouldn't have to wait weeks for replacement.

Then again, they went bust in the end so meh that was more to do with size and buying power than anything though most likely.

The thing that gets me is, when you clearly aren't the cheapest in the UK for much at all, so making more profit than most, that should end up with more money for good customer service, but alas. Rather than the standard, pay more and get better service mentality, OCUK tend to go for the, pay us more, then we'll screw you more mentality, which to me leaves next to no reason to use them.

Of course, on any ranges that are over a year old they suddenly have good deals.

    Re: Disgusted with www.overclockers.co.uk

every member of hexus should know better than to use overclockers, ive never known a more stuck up bunch of ******s in all my life, they are owned by an ape.

take them to court over ur mobo, what if, in a crazy case it had caught fire as a result of water and electricity, and somebody had died in a fire they'd be done for manslaughter surely so i see no reason why u shouldnt squeeze every penny out of them. ohhh yeah ive had a few beers and i could quite easily get all fired up lol

I agree. I would rather pay scan, yoyo, kustomPC more money than use Overclockers.

    Re: Disgusted with www.overclockers.co.uk

    20-Aug
Well I got a welcome back offer email and being the trusting person I am decided to give OcUK another chance after a horrible experience a few years ago. Read about it here if you are interested:

    http://trust.hexus.net/user_profile.php?user=3075

I ordered approx £280 worth after 10% discount and it arrived on time Fri, just right for me to build over the bank holiday weekend. Inventory check revealed OcUK had sent the wrong motherboard (a model issued early 2007). Frustrating, but I thought this does give OcUK the opportunity to demonstrate customer service has improved.

I asked OcUK to arrange a swap out or send correct motherboard at same time other was returned. No chance, I had to go through RMA, which entails waiting for them to collect, book it in for checking, then send correct motherboard. Effectively adding at least another weeks delay. OcUK made the mistake but has transferred the inconvenience to me.

I asked OcUK to refund the cost of the motherboard, I wonder how long I'll have to wait for the refund? OcUK have no idea about customer service, obviously can't be ars@d to find an equitable solution. Nope just chuck it at the RMA guy, the customer can go and whistle in the wind. I will definately not be using OcUK again, not because of the mistake, but because of the way OcUK customer service has handled resolving it.

    27th Aug. Further update:
Despite agreeing a refund, OcUK sent a RMA email stating Desired action:replace" requiring me to contact them again. Meanwhile OcUK did not arrange collection today as they had promised.

They really are a company to deal with, can't believe I got sucked in again. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.

    12 Sep. Further update:
OcUK arranged and failed to pick up a total of three times. To resolve this they agreed that if I sent the item back special delivery at a cost of £7.75 they would refund this.

The item was sent back a week ago, still no sign of a refund. After chasing I have been advised the refund may take 2-3 working days but are only refunding the item not the postage. This is despite their RMA operative promising they would refund postage.

The worse thing is it is not possible to reply to their emails customers are forced to use the web forms over and over again. Anybody that says they are ok clearly has not had to deal with either OcUK RMA or Customer service.

MY ADVICE DON'T USE THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Boycotting such companies is ideal, i'm glad i have never used them, i also read that its run by a "Hitler". Someone should report them to Trading standards or someink if they arent up to scratch??

    Ebuyer and Scan FTW!

OMG OcUK is on the TRUST LIST!!!!111!
I see Hexus aren't scared of them anymore to put them back up, or was it always there? (ie 2005 rating)

Still can't wait to see the flood of bad reviews that have been waiting to be written.

Looks like the OcUK haters guild's wishes has been granted.

I used them once, bought an Athlon T-Bird i think, pre unlocked or some such, back in OCS days . Ordered one, was sent something completely different, then told it was the right one, the receipt said otherwise. Never used them again, and that was hmm 7 years ago !? I lost out on about £20+, no big deal really. I'd hate to be in the situation some of you are in.
