    Protein Shakes

Anyone know of a good online retailer for protein shakes? Back at the gym and ive found previously they do really help, epecially with recovery times. Anyone buy theres online? Used to get it from my gym, but since the uni gym is pap they dont sell it.

I usually go for a pint of one mixed with milk after a workout, LIke i said, didnt really help with lifting (although you do look bigger, it kind of puffs you up when you first start on them) but recovery times are much eased (i.e i prob only ache the morning after a heavy day, rather than all day)

dont quote me on this, but after a workout its better if you dont have them with milk, as milk slows digestion. i'm not 100% sure on this, just heard it somewhere, not sure what else you could sue though

yeah im not looking to gain recovery rates as im play tennis and do alot of cardio. I would purely be using the shakes for appearance. Im 6ft4 so although i prob have as much muscle as the average joe it doesnt look that way due to the height.
So it would purely be to use with my weight trainging to "bulk" out

In that case creatine is probably your best bet, although i tend to avoid using it (seems a bit too similar to steroids) lots of people i know have had excellent results with it, you just need to cycle your use, i.e 3 weeks on, 1 week off, or your body stops making it and you get no benefit.

I used to use a lot of LA muscle stuff http://www.lamuscle.com/docs/products/index.php but not any more owing to certain circumstances. As for creatine it made me bloated & tbh I never relly noticed any advantages on it. Club overload has a few good articles, as does Mens Health.

Funny...I was looking to try out protein shakes today as well. Thought I would give eBay a go and sure enough, a pleothera of products are available (creatine and protein). Prices are a lot cheaper then any of the websites, but then again I don't know how much quality has to do with these products as I have never taken any before.

Whey protein is whey protein imo, doesn't matter what brand. Some add extra ingredients, others don't.
As a guideline, you should take at least 1.5 to 2 grams of quality protein per lb of bodyweight per day. This should be spaced out throughout the day. You should also train heavy and hard, on a split routine. But don't overtrain. Train each bodypart no more than once every 6-7 days.
    Is a good rough guide
