yeah, i would steer well clear of that one mate. firstly the private feedback suggests he has something to hide, even if it is just so you cant see the names of his aliases that he has used to give himself the 10 feedbacls he has! and there are lots of scammers working from china now, it seems to be the new nigeria
remember, if it looks too good to be true, then it generally is.
I wasn't going to buy one anyway (I'd never use an FX-60) but it just came across as a wow situation.
It doesn't say Reserve not Met so I presume it's a No Reserve AuctionOriginally Posted by aphex

There's always the extra hidden charges in insurance and postal, not so much in this case.
Surely if you DON'T get it then paypal will do something about it, i.e. refund as protection is offered...
Woohoo now Assistant Manager!
China? LOL SCAM!
"Seller's payment instructions
PAYMENT: Money Transfer via western union, bank wire transfer . We don't accept paypal. If you want to receive the item earlier, I sincerely hope that you can make the payment western union payment which is proceeded at the post office, and you can also use bank transfer so that I can receive the item very soon."
it has scam written all over it.
I think eBay must've caught on. It's been deleted now.
ebay do a good job of getting rid of most of the thousands of scams

yep gone now, what was it?
Actually they don't - the reason why they pulled it is because I alerted them to it. This is the third case of fraud in graphics card section within 2 months that I have come across - still trying to get £260 back from paypal with what seemed like a legitimate seller along with 6 others.Originally Posted by nvening
Be very careful - it always looks a bargain but unless you can contact the seller and speak to them before you transfer money then stay away. Any legit person in the UK will be more than willing to speak to you/ give legit details before you hand over money.

It was an FX-60, 2gb, 7800GTX System in a shuttle case going for about £320. I knew it was fishy when I saw it.Originally Posted by mofo's

It can take a while to get your money through. Once you've filled in the fraud complaint, then you have to wait a while I think then fill in another form and fax it off to them. I think it took me 2 or 3 months to get my money back, and then it was only £105 (of £160) due to the level of coverage.Originally Posted by iranu
However at least with Paypal (or Credit Card I would think), you are covered. Western Union, Cash, and other non-traceable transactions are non=-recovarable. Any advertising with Western Union are worth reporting and staying away from. Saw loads of ipods that were similar a few months ago.
Also some legitimate users have their account hijacked by fraudulent users, who then change the location to China, and probably make the feedback private so you cant see what the location was beforehand.
Ebay really frustrates me at times - they did well to pull this i'll give them that, but i think they need to cut down on people scamming for postage. Take for example this guitar - £9.99 to buy but how do you justify £150 for postage

Is it not in their Ts & Cs that you are only allowed to charge a "reasonable" amount for P&P? ie actual cost of postage plus cost of a box/bubblewrap etcetera?
