All we need now is someone to pry open a box so we can all take a peek inside and she what else has changed.

I've just bought a 60gb HDD to upgrade mine
I would of waited and upgraded the whole thing if I knew about this a little sooner

Just one question, if you have sent your box away to have the RROD repaired and they send you back a new one (possibly Jasper) what sort of problems are you likely to get if your PSU is old?
Is it safe or wise to use a larger powered PSU on a console that requires less power?
My new 360 has a different PSU to my old one (that's going for repair), the original had three pins in the power socket the new one only has two, so no earth!
I never checked the wattage on it though. Just thought it was best to use the PSU that came with the 360!
I believe its ok to use, its just like having a 500w PSU on the PC when it only uses 200W. Its probably better to have a higher rated PSU depending if its just as efficient at the set wattage because if the console goes over that(plug in usb devices etc) then it could crash.
The 360 PSU's are designed so that you can't physically fit a PSU that will cause damage the machine into it.
I tried plugging a first gen machine into a modern one - the socket simply won't plug into the socket
As for using a higher one in a lower machine, not sure, but I suspect what Hicks said is probably right
Agent's right, the different revisions come with different PSU connectors. Chances are, if MS did send you a Jasper replacement for a broken console, they'd probably send it with a new PSU, too.
I'm hoping I'll get that kinda treatment, but I'm pretty certain I'll get the same console back with a replacement mobo inside it. If so, I think I'll be taking it to Blockbuster to trade in for a Jasper.
haha exactly what im thinking, im fed up with the console roaring away when im watching a dvd, my friend has a newer one and the noise levels are very acceptable not to mention i was surprised that the air was kinda cool that was coming out the back of it, also i dont want to be playing it with baited breath waiting for it to red ring again
After trying to play Fable II on my new 360 I hope they repair my old one rather than sending me a new one. My copy of Fable II was bought through an Amazon seller and is NTSC-J, region free. It played find on the old 360 but keeps freezing up on the new one and is unplayable
If I get a new 360 does anyone want to swap a region free copy of Fable II for a UK one?
Deleted because it was mi-information
EDIT: Scratch what I said....I totally mis-undetstood my friend. He is GOING to get a Jasper because his original has died. My bad for being a complete idiot.
