http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx lists 9.2 as the most recently available. Got a link for 9.3?
Interesting article is the mid range test going to include the 4850? I wonder whether this 9.3 driver will fix the bizzare 8 GB RAM issue certain ATI cards have on both 32 and 64 bit windows.
I know it's still beta, but I thought everyone was saying how much faster W7 is than Vista? Or is that for non-gaming applications? It would be intersting to see how XP does in comparison as well (for Dx9 anyway).
might put 7057 on tonight and give this a bash - will be available by the end of the working day i presume and not "yanks lunchtime"..

The speed people are mentioning is general snappiness of the OS. It doesn't give you more FPS... well save for a few optimisations here and there by the looks of it. The 20% NVIDIA increase in Company of Heroes is just odd, though I presume that's a driver anomaly rather than a W7 advantage - perhaps if the same driver could be used in each OS the result would have been closer.
Good showing from both camps it seems, particularly ATi's consistency, though given the comparatively teeny differences between Vista and W7 I guess that's expected.

Catalyst v9.3 out now according to http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx
Sig here?
anyone read the release notes?
i did interesting bit
improvements for windows 7
...empty
so what did they actually improve from using the old vista ones?
The next Ubuntu release is 9.04, due next month some time. It'll come with (barring changes between now & then) NVidia 180.37 and ATI 8.600 (packages are versioned using internal ATI build numbers, not public Catalyst names, so that's PROBABLY 9.3ish - it's certainly newer than 9.2).
To use those driver versions on 8.10, add "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/directhex/ppa/ubuntu intrepid main" to Administration/Software Sources/Third Party
can't get it to install with my old X1650!
Ohh well....
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!
