Is it fair to compare performance of a 4870 on W7 with the 4890 on Vista? Seems a bit incongrous to me. Ah well - I shall look forward to the official tests, the subsequent GTS 275 tests and the inevitable 260 price drop.

What I find absolutely hilarious is the fact these marketing tactics were used at the other place for years, table turns and the other place throws a complete fit, superb.

I agree 3d mark isnt everything but its a good benchamark on the card theres no way the 4890 offeres £115 worth more performance than the 9800gtx+ lets just hope its the drivers hey.

It's always the case that you pay a premium for the high-end, and you end up paying more £ for each frame/percentage increase in performance. Nothing new at all there!

Considering that an ATI 4850 can beat a 9800GTX+ in Tomb Raider Anniversary, World in Conflict, Call of Duty 4 etc..., and hold its own in Crysis, a 4890 should offer a easily justifiable performance increase

I just can't believe they didn't throw a 1GB 4870 in to the benchmarking mix - surely that is a more appropriate comparison to the new card?! Not to mention GTX260 (both core versions) would be nice in there too. Oh well, can't have everything. A little underwhelming on first sight, will have to wait for full review...
