A company with shocking customer services gets taken over by another company with shocking customer services. No really a good thing in my book.

In the days of dialup I was with Lineone, who were very good but got brought out by Tiscali. Later I had broadband with Pipex who were also very good, but were brought out by Tiscali. At least now the ISP wont be brought out by Tiscali, although knowing my luck it will be brought by Sky.

Re: News - CPW acquisition for Tiscali for £236m confirmed

To all the Talktalk haters, how much do you pay for your connection?

I personally regard Talktalk as a much better ISP than Tiscali, price, performance and clarity of packages.

If you want performance, pay for it and use a decent ISP like Sky, BE etc

I am a Tiscali customer and I never had problems with them. Never ever needed to use customer Services.

They gave me good download speeds on my broadband and a cheap package (8Mbps+Unlimited phone+Line rental for £20pm ). So, I never had any problems with them.

I dont understand why people hate them

But, Talktalk is a pile of crap. someone I know tried to cancel after their year long contract was up and they had to write a lot of letters!

I am disappointed that Talktalk aka CPW are taking over Tiscali. I guess my speeds will suffer now.

Time to move to O2+BT or Virgin or Be+BT

Because you appear to have been lucky. Yet despitenot having personal experience with TalkTalk you are bad mouthing them. People have similar stories of Tiscali, hence the general dislike for them
