looking at it...i cannot see any difference from dx 10??? whats REALLY so special? or am i missing something....

The lighting, smoke/dirt of the tires and the water/splashes.
because dx10 was just a couple of tweaks in the games .cfg file for the most part(why not use DX10?).

Kind of agree about the water looking odd though - still looks a little 'thick' or viscous. The surface doesn't break up easily enough. Nitpicking though, obviously...

I'm not knowledgeable enough on the subject to compare DX9 10 and 11 together. However, I was impressed by the demo shown in the yT video.
I agree with other posters that the water is quite viscous (sticky) - it's obvious that a lot of time has been spent on the water, but the effect is still not quite "real life". Maybe DIRT 2: Patch 1.1 will help?
