    why in holy hell is a high end board using a bloody realtek network chip. are broadcom or marvell chips really that expensive.

    I've not log bought the Maximus II and rebuilt into a smaller case, nice to see there are people out there making mATX boards that have everything that there higher ranging ATX boards have..

    Because they cut corners to keep the BoM really low, same as Apple. And no, marvell chips are fairly reasonably priced. So are Intel's at that, which are better still. You're paying for flashier cooling, the brand, and a slightly more configurable BIOS.
