FINALLY! Now i can pressure cook my carrots in my pc case
Currently studying: Electronic Engineering and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Southampton.
Wouldn't the 490 model number make more sense? Unless nVidia plan to re-badge the 4 series...
This is just the green team slipping out some information/misinformation to spoil the red team's party... as they have always done and will continue to do.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
Doesn't the ARES (5970) one have 3 connectors ?

Yes but they aren't necessary from the outset. They're only really useful if you overclock the card beyond its rating (difficult), as 8+8+6 on the Ares allows for 450W already, when the TDP of the card itself is only around 360W. You'd be pushing volts up well beyond the danger zone to get anywhere near 450W.
The other 4GB HD5970 cards only use 8+8, which allows for 375W max.
The GTX480's current actual TDP (not the fake one published) is about 295W from what I can see, so some serious strings need pulling if they're not to exceed the 300W that 8+6 allows. They might just go for an 8+8 which would be sensible. However, it'll make them look pretty bad when the HD6970 turns up and uses around 250W for more performance, which it will.
If that picture is true, they aren't, That's an 8+8 on the card, suggesting TDP will be between 300 and 375W.
Well, this is nvidia. They will probably state the TDP as 295W when it's actually 350W. The GTX480 TDP is a barefaced lie as it is.
