so they have dropped the price and still cost more than i paid
WTF ?
Capitalization is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack
off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse.
The Corsair and OCZ drives are both far better, and cheaper too .
Due to worsened exchange rates and increased cost of NAND, I'm afraid.
Re OCZ et al drives being better - this is true for some drives at some things (e.g. sequential writes), but the paper figures for the Sandforce controllers are optimistic best-case scenarios that really don't translate well to the real world. It's really not as clear-cut as it appears on first glance.

This is just one great big advert for intel, hexus!- you should be ashamed! lol
They cost more now than when I got one 2.
Even G3 doesnt give better read speeds - just slightly improved write speeds.....

Intel need to lower the price even further. I bought my 160GB X25-M G2 for £325.43 in July 2009 and Scan are currently selling it for £310.49. Almost 17 months later and it's only £14.94 cheaper.
Haha - everyone seems to have the same plan as me at the moment!
New G3 or something with another type of controller into this machine, which frees up the 80GB G2 to move to my laptop, and the 64GB Samsung SSD in my laptop at the moment? That can go on ebay or go into my sisters laptop.
