dear oh dear...
I know some one who is upgrading his 4 to a 4S, not quite sure why yet. Although he also has an iPad... not quite sure why he has that either.

Its nice phone the iPhone 4S with specs to match too. I can afford one but I can't help feeling its too much money. My older brother is going from a 3GS to 4S later this year, so I might get a hands on soon.
Wow - £500 phone - I thought we were all poor. I guess living on baked beans is something people are willing to live with to have the latest shiny, shiny. Personally I might make my 18 month X10 last me another 18 months as it does everything the 4S does without the shiny...

And Apple improved camera, CPU, GPU, battery, antenna, voice recognition, HSDPA.

improved camera - Apple have just done that
added camera flash - Already had it
improved video capture at 1080p - Added it
higher capacity battery - Dunno about capacity but more life, definitely
thinner - Still thicker than the iPhone 4
lighter - Feels too flimsy
better bluetooth
HSPA+
HDMI out
USB host mode
Dual microphones for noise cancellation - Already had it
newer version of android? - iOS5
So overall, with the SGS2, they were only really on the same level as the iPhone 4, some bits betters, others worse...
Still can't understand how all the features that the 4S has over the 4 is classed as "Marginal".
I think the problem is many were expecting it to look different and that anything less falls short.
To my mind, if you're that concerned about changing the outward appearance of a device, you're probably just buying the device to be 'seen' with something new rather than buying for the functionality and how it makes your life easier/more enjoyable.
