Loads of the 'classics' are now free and the system reqs are 'a pc that works'.
3 years on I still play Planetside 2 every Sunday with my Outfit. The game has those magical moments when hundreds of players collide and chaos erupts in a huge battle that you just can't get in any other game.
Will probably play the game more in the coming weeks as the ANT + first phase of player bases nears the end of development on the Test Server.
CSS Gun Game and Zombie mode nowadays. But My fondest memories are of Counter Strike 1.3 Started playing this game back in 1999 i am (42) now. Words cant describe the feeling i had going from dial-up to Broadband and getting to play against real life players from round the world. Happy Happy Days especially as my ping times where sub 10ms and because i was the first on my street to get it with a 1-20 contention ratio. To this day i have never ever had a better quality connection, only 2Mb but that's all i needed, it was all about the Ping times and 60fps baby So for me Half Life Mod Counter Strike 1.3 through to 1.6 is the God of all free Multi-player Games.
Robocraft..its very addictive
Sorry I don't like online multiplayer games or games with micro-transactions so I tend to stay as far away from free games as possible.
I would rather pay for a game and have an enjoyable single player experience.
to throw my hat in the ring I'd go with War Thunder, stressful at times, bit of a learning curve when you realise you have to aim for actual weak points unlike World of Tanks (not hating on it, i play both) but when you pull off some incredible plays it feels fantastic, almost similiar to the achievement felt when you beat a Souls boss haha
Path of Exile
For everyone who loves Diablo II!
I am the same although I have tried a few so called "freebies" to see why people rave about them. World of Tanks is one example. I gave it a go only to realise what a crappy experience it is due to some players thinking it's funny to shoot at their own team, players who won't do anything but hide and other's who can kill you with a single shot. That was uninstalled in less than a week. I gave Path of Exile a go as well and just like Diablo III it quickly got boring after the first playthrough.
Dirty Bomb is really fun and didn't particularly feel like I needed to pay for anything to get an advantage.
I've really been enjoying World of Warships. It's a completely new concept to me!
Steam - ReapedYou - Feel free to add me!!
well there are 2 games i can suggest
Warframe is a third person shooter and one of if not the best free to play game out so far has been voted the top free to play game on many sites. With regular updates keeping the game growing, the Devs keeping everyone informed through the forum or their fortnightly livestreams a lot of content and a story thats starting to unravel. This game is amazing and only keeps getting better.
Dreadnought i played the recent alpha and it was amazing when it gets fully released definently a game to get
Playing Blade and Soul so far. It's a martial arts themed MMO (though you can play as a mage) that so far seems free friendly, but expensive if you do want to buy some stuff. The combat seems good and I did like the story so far.
