I have seen some of the Vivo phones and they are quite nice, but was not sure about the 4G band support.
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!

And everyone who tried to sell me on Smartphones, back when I was using things that ran Windows Mobile 5.5... Rarely did I meet someone who hadn't dropped/sat on their stupidly big plates of glass and damaged the screen, despite using protectors.
Incidentally, when you say "cam whores"..... to which ones do you refer?
I really hate that term, usually bandied about by the Selfie generation of marketing executives.
Real estate is land and buildings, ie property that cannot easily be moved... not what we've always referred to as 'screen space' or 'screen area'!!!
It's why we have as few moving parts as possible though. Blackberry keeps a physical keyboard and guess which part breaks on them
I bet it does the olde screen on when you call people too as I can't see a proximity sensor which will ruin battery life for starters.
Also front cameras are used for facetime/video calling and face recognition for unlock amongst other things

IIRC, mine works on a tilt sensor.... maybe... dunno, really, just guessing. No-one phones me these days, as it's sooooooo Last Season. The future is WhatsApp via desktop, apparently... but only for those who don't use Farcebook Messenger.
Maybe the sensor can sense through glass, or it's hidden in the earpiece-speaker?
Don't they also ruin battery life?
TBH, I never felt there was any point in Selfies, until I got a dog!!
Lol less than screen - screen is biggest power sapping thing in a phone. No earpiece, the whole screen is the speaker and nobody has invented a proximity sensor yet that works through a screen.
Although front facing cameras are not used by everyone, a flagship phone would not sell if it didn't have one in this day and age (generally that is) although I did read somewhere that nearly 60% of users are put off by a notch in the screen lol
It's a solution to a problem that a lot of people don't think exists. But the phone market is saturated, manufacturers have to try to be different. It's not something I'd like as it would be the first thing I broke!

Front facing cameras are important for video calling!
I don't do selfies and begrudgingly do viseo calls with the wife to see my kids. If this phone was available here, i would be all over it like a tramp on chips
Much nicer than *any* of the notch phones in existence - fingers crossed the mainstream manufacturers pick this up as a workable idea so we can put this awful notch fad to bed next year
The pop up mechanism has been on compact cameras for eons. I doubt ther are any robustness issues here. It will be engineered for a certain number of actuations. I suspect waterproofing / resistance would be compromised with this design.
I do think that this is taking things over the top for the gain of 3mm of screen space.
I don't take selfies unless I'm using the front facing camera to see if I've got any food on my face after stuffing my face in the trough.
I'd rather just not have a front facing camera. I've had one on almost every phone for the past decade or more and I rarely use it. That said, I expect the majority of the population would want the option.
Time to trough. Where be the Nutella?
