My contract isn't up for another 9 months, but if it was up now, I'd go for the kaiser

Re: What phone you thinking of next?

The Kaiser's a lovely phone, no question, but I'm glad I opted for the Touch Dual. Much skinnier, I already have separate GPS, and I don't use WiFi.

I just ended my contract, I'm looking at the X800 Glofiish and the Touch Cruise. I'm thinking of buying one outright, bit expensive though.

Re: What phone you thinking of next?

I bought the TD outright, but I think whether it's expensive depends on how you calculate it. Bigger initial outlay, but you either spend less on the contract, get more minutes/texts/data, get a monthly contract instead of 18 months or any combination thereof... Bottom line, I wanted one of the O2 Simplicity deals and I wanted the 20-key TD, and the networks are only doing the 16-key. For me, it was worth it.

I just went on to a nice similarly nice Orange plan, so buying the phone up front is rather tempting at the moment, abeit a bit heafty on my credit card.

Re: What phone you thinking of next?

I've been on PAYG with my QTek S100 for years now and it's saved me a small fortune TBH. I think i'd definitely buy a new one outright and the TD does look nice. The kaisers too big sadly.

Re: What phone you thinking of next?

If you do get the TD, make sure you get SlideActions; basically, although you can set the phone to pick up on sliding open, sliding closed doesn't end the call. SlideActions lets you set it to do that (and a couple of other things). See thread at My fix to improve my Dual Touchs U.I - xda-developers

Re: What phone you thinking of next?

PAYG user here with 1 of the £10 top-up sims which gets loads of free texts

Just got a N95 as per the other thread and as yet I doubt I'll be upgrading anytime soon as it's ideal for what I need it for (read that as mp3 player and a 1/2 decent camera)

Re: What phone you thinking of next?

I've heard mixed reports about the Glofiish - have you had specific problems with it? I ask because we're doing a broader rollout of Mobile Activesync, and I've been considering the X800/M800 as an alternative to HTC and Palm's PocketPCs.

I'm really tempted by the 640x480 screen on the Glofiish, much higher than much else out at the moment.

Since it's WM6 you can change out a lot of the software right?

Re: What phone you thinking of next?

My work phone is up for renewal beginning of May this year so I'm going for the Ericcson W960I.

Plenty internal memory and the wireless on it is ideal for me as I use my phone as a media center! Been looking at other phones due out between now and my renewal date and there is nothing else close to it so my mind is made p already!

As a corperate phone, hmm. Probably not. Go for somethign simpler with a keypad i'd have to say. This WILL take fiddling with software for people too like it. Its not an out of the box love affair. If people are veterain windows PDA users they will like it thou.

Yup, its just a question of time. Plus work at the moment has had me optomising someone elses code, the kind of thing i've got down from 12 hours to 5 minuites 39 seconds now. It kills the part of you that wants to play with technology (and do stuff like customise your phone).

As for the screen, its loverly, far better than anything on the market. Problem is, high res screen, by default they expect the same level of acuracy on the thouch screen, not a problem, because not been a jobs phone, you can of course tinker with that stuff.
