Question Lotus notes integration for windows mobile?

    Gents

I've just ordered a Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 - does anyone know of any MS mobile software that would enable me to sync the phone with my notes mail, contacts and calendar here at work??

    Cheers

There seems to be a few different apps out there that let you sync with Notes, but I think they all cost real money.

Cheers for that. Do you have any experience with any of these? I'm quite happy to pay for something but I'm finding it pretty difficult to find any actual real world reviews that I trust

    Nope.

Thanksfully I have never had the "pleasure" of using Lotus Notes

Yeah - there isn't much in the way of pleasure when it comes to notes, whoever closed that deal with our company (and its a v. large int. blue chip) must be a rich man - the vendor lock-in is phenomenal with their crappy notes databases etc. Anyway, thanks for the info boss.

Two of the largest oil companies use it: ExxonMobil and StatoilHydro. So I have seen it being used and it looks horible, not intuitive at all. In fact so much so, it looks like it has been purposly designed to be different to Outlook/Windows even when they are clearly doing it wrong.

Word on the street is that Smartner Duality is the one to go for.

honest advise from my mate was that if you want to use notes on a mobile, you are much better off with a blackberry

good luck - The Bold is supposed to be one of the good ones - I've never really got on with them either. Thankfully we're not crippled by notes ( just crippled by Exchange 2k7 instead )

Going a bit OT here, but whats up with 2K7?

I'd really like to get out Exchange updated to 2K7 for its OWA, so much better than 2K3.

We've just started planning for the migration from Notes to exchange so I actually envy your dilemma!

2k7 OWA is very nice - but large scale 2k7 deployments are painfull. The extra cost of updaing all your OS's is anoying too.

I assume by "all your OS's" you mean the client PCs. Why do these need updated?

Re: Lotus notes integration for windows mobile?

    Nope I mean Server OS

2k7 has to run on 64 bit and you need to upgrade your Domain controllers to 64 bit as well.
