Do i have to pay any extra if i upgrade my orange contract?

I just got a bit of a shock when my bill came through - to the tune of £66 (my contract is £15). Apparently i went over by 167 minutes. Not going to do that again!

I think instead of just taking better care next time, i'm just going to ask if i can be put on the £20 price plan instead, do i just call up and ask or do i have to visit a store to do it?

And will i have to pay for cancelling my current contract or is it a seamless thing?

I think you can just ring up and i doubt they would charge you as your still going with them.

It may be worth while though acting like your going to quite asking for the pac code as they sometimes give some very good deals.

Just call customer services and they will be able to up your tariff for you, paying a bit extra line rental and getting extra mins and texts is better than huge bills!

If the contract is nowhere near the end you would have to pay the remaining months line rental to cancel

Depends on how long you have left as i believe orange let you upgrade your contract(no phone etc) at 9months and 15 months(i think) depending if its 12 or 18month contract. Since you are asking for a tarrif upgrade id see no reason from them to offer, if you were leaving then they would probably force you to pay but id say give them a call to see.

    if u change ur contract.....
a downgrade: they may charge u, bt morelikely, u hav to wait untill 3months from the end of ur contract.
an upgrade: u can upgrade at any time, for free! orange dont have a problem with this, ur just guaranteeing them a higher monthly income!

you dont need to go instore, just ring them.
if u go in store, they'll just end up ringing for you. all orange stuff is done through the call centre,

Re: Do i have to pay any extra if i upgrade my orange contract?

Yeah i figured they can hardly say no.. if they did then i'd just say well i'm leaving

    Righto

Is there a free number i can ring them on? Seems a shame to waste my credit on hold!

EDIT: Success! Gave them a call, was put through very quickly and the bloke there was awesome to be honest - i'm now on a plan for £19.57, unlimited texts and 400 minutes! Should do me juuust fine 200 more than i hoped for anyway, and i didn't even have to threaten to leave!
