Windows Mobile with best battery life?

i'm currently looking at upgrading my HTC Kaiser

as need to use the tomtom software alot on my Windows Mobile i need know which ones currently have the best battery life (real world, not why they list)

my choice is either HTC touch HD, Touch pro, Samsung Omnia or Sony X1..

i'm leaning more to the sony as its state very high battery life but does anyone he any real world stats on it?

Re: Windows Mobile with best battery life?

Just got the Touch Pro a week and a bit ago, and while I'm not in a GPS range most of the time, so have it turned off, I was expecting to prepare for far worse life. It'll last 3 days easily, though I don't use it all that much, but do have push mail. Wish I hadn't bothered with the 2nd battery to be honest - the bag is still sealed...

I don't know if such options are available for the Omnia or X1, but for the TP you can get larger batteries which stick out the back slightly, and come with a new rear cover to sort that. Might be a nice option, so you can change them around if necessary.

To be honest, I'd trade a couple of hours of battery life for the keyboard any day anyway.

Xperia x1 bar none m8, has a 1500maH battery, not many other windows mobile phones have that, best talk time to at up to 10 hours, mine runs like a jiffy 4-5 days usage, with about 1-2 hour calls everyday, 30mins web browsing/ music/ videos. very nice phone.

Re: Windows Mobile with best battery life?

The thing with the HTC phones is that you can burn a new rom onto it if you're not happy with the standard one.
My Kaiser had appalling battery life until recently. Basically if I forgot to charge it every night it would run out next day, and that is with Blutooth and Wifi turned off.
I burned a new rom from xda-developers.com onto it and now it easily lasts 3 days with wifi permanently on.

The X1 is actually an HTC made phone and there are roms on xda dev forum already too

The previous version of this one.

Kaiser WWE D3D M2D MobileVista 3 Premium 5.2.20755B20755.1.0.1 by ansar

I've just noticed there's been an upgrade. I shall have to see if it adds anything I want.

This was my first rom upgrade and I must admit I was a little nervous of doing it but the instructions on xda-dev are excellent. They walk you right through it.
