Where to get films for android

My girlfriend has an iphone and says she can get films from istore, but I'm wondering where I can get films for my Desire HD. Is there anything that exists, such as Blockbuster, where I can just rent a film that's specifically sized for my phone rather than being a full hd version at however many gig?

Also while I'm here, I just want to check, are all apps available for android on the market, or, unlike the apple app store, are there just apps and games on the developers websites, and if so are they safe? I really am quite clueless when it comes to getting new apps/games/films for my phone and basically just stick to whatever is in the market.

    Cheers

You should be able to upload films to the phone from your pc. Not sure what format is supports though as I dont use mine for films

https://market.android.com/ theres where to look for apps and games If you log in you can click to download the app and it will start installing on your phone automagically

Thanks for that. I just don't get if I'm missing something. It seems like there are all these cool 3d games for iphone, yet I haven't seen a single one for android even though my phone is in many respects more powerful. Is it literally that there are none, or just that I haven't found any?

Re: Where to get films for android

Android has a pretty decent market place, but no where near the volume of apps as the Apple App Store.

And when it comes to media, there just isn't any competition, there just isn't anything for Android like the iTunes store.

There is need for speed shift, Fifa 10, asphalt,

Gameloft have a load of decent 3d games for android as well now.

Re: Where to get films for android

chuck 3d games android in to youtube, there are plenty of clips showing multiple games. I use 7digital for music, and grab deals. Its a good compromise for home and mobile music.

Re: Where to get films for android

For movies there is currently no UK app to get films from, although if you live in the US there are a couple of apps which support movie subscription services. If you already have films on your PC that are in DivX format or any other popular format, you can use the RockPlayer app to play them.

It does however look like Google will very soon be integrating Movies, Music and Books in to the Market as reported here:

    http://androidcommunity.com/android-...ooks-20110219/

Although it is not yet available on Android smartphones, only the brand new Honeycomb OS based tablets.

A few games for you / her to try:

    Jet Car Stunts (lite)
    Gun Bros
    Reckless Racing
    SpeedX

    To name but a few...
