    Orange rant #2

Unlike the other guy my phone is within the 12 month warantee how ever it is no longer holding it's charge and this is even with a new battery.....

The phone is a k700i, and before you ask it hardly gets used anymore, out of 120 mins i have got 97 left which tells you am not using it....It's defo not in use from 12 noon till 10pm at night as thats when am at work and then it's defo not used in a morning because am not up before 11am and so i basicly have 2 hrs a day in which to use this phone........

anyway, phone customer care and was rather rudely told "tough", call the retentions and was told the same but in a more poliet manner.

To them they gave the phone as a gift and so do not have to honer anything....even though it is now impacting my ability to use the contracted mins...

I just want to know how the networks get away with this ?

anyway am going to buy a sim free phone and then port my account to o2 payg after 6 years as a payg cust and now 2 years contract they are going to lose a customer over replacing a handset, kinda makes you wonder why they bother.

I thought o2 where bad, but even we offer to send it off for repair or replacement.

Quality bunch of people at Orange. Phoned up to register a pay as you go sim (cant do it online , why????) Tried 3 times during the day, each time sytem down cant sort ring baack in 30mins. Tried next day amd it took me around 30 mins to register the phone and a topup card, bloke on the end of line couldt understand what I was saying and I couldnt understand him, his mic kept picking up th rest of the office and took 3 go to register the card, the joys of outsourcing

Have you tried going directly to Sony Ericsson with the problem? Unless you've got Orange's insurance policy, they'll usually refer you to the manufacturer.

The point is, you by a cd-rom/dvd burner and it goes faulty, who do you go to? the supplier or the manuf ?

The supplier of course so why is it any different for them......

darrensen, i duno m8 i hear complaints from customers who have left o2 for 3 then come back because of the bad service....

All i wanted was it repaired or replaced, and i don't see why i shud have to insure it just to have to pay them 15 quid to claim for a fone not worth 89 quid

all in all it's been a bad expirence with them, allready told the rest of the faimly whos on contract with orange and we are serious considering moving to vodaphone or just simply payg......

Well I was with Orange, but the whole we look after current customers thing has gone out the window, they seem to really be struggling with customer service of late.

I moved over to Vodaphone about 3 months ago, cautious as they have always seemed expensive, but its but nothing but excelletn service since I joined, really pleased I moved over...

Out of interest did you have to buy the new battery? I have the £5mo insurance on my contract but they would only replace the handset when the battery died, for that I would have to pay £30

Woah, and I just moved to Orange lol.

Voda is just rather expensive. A few years back, I was dragged by my friends to join Voda since they were all ont he network, and crossnet wasn't that common. Now everyone just move to whatever is the cheapest.

From a service point of view, I never had a prob with Voda. I hope that I won't need Orange's support though.

Orange do provide a very good service. The only few things that are letting them down now are (a) insurance claims (b) upgrades for current customers.

With Orange Care Insurance plan which is an extra £5 per month on your bill, they used to just swap for phone out next day without any problems, but now they charge an extra £15 for administration costs.

As for upgrades and how the treat current customers............ If you come to the end of your contract they charge your 3 times the price of the handset on their website. IMO they should give you a discount on the handset since you have been a customer with them for a min of a year.

I've looked over a few other forums and customers are leaving fast at the end of their contracts. I think they need to take a look at the other companies and review theirs!!!!

Well, unless the upgrade offer is good, I will probably find myself hopping around network more now (at the end of the contract). New contracts seem to get more and more attractive... and I think that for the next few year, I will be aiming to get free phones rather than smartphones (considering how good some of those free phones are).

I was with Orange since they started which is well over 10 years.
Haven't had a upgrade in 3 years and they wouldn't do me a decent upgade deal either. So I have just gone over to O2. As far as I'm concerned they can shove there network where the sun don't shine.
They seem to go badly down hill after they did that share jobby a few years back. They are too busy doing deal for new and Pay as You Go customers rather than keep there exisiting contract customers.
Ohh the wife has just moved from Orange too got and got some O2 PAYG Sim cards for the rest of the family.

    P.S.
O2 are doing free sim cards again.
Let's all ditch Orange in favor of O2. LOL

I worked for Orange CS for 3 years. Left em a little over three years ago when they were bought by France Telecom, they got rid of Hans Snook so I could see exactly what was coming next. The only reason I still have an Orange phone is because my (ex)staff phone number is dead easy to remember and I cannot be bothered to look into porting.

Oh and they (the French) decided ordinary CSRs should push sales without any of the bonuses earned by the sales staff. I dunno how pushy CS are now with "sales" of care and upgrades as I won't phone em, ever!

I actually went from 02 to Orange on account of the PAYG sims with 3000 Evening and weekend text offers, and I have to say so far they've been grand.

My mian problem was I kept my 02 Phone and had it unlocked, but one phone call and I was through to a very helpful lady at Customer Services (Definatley not Indian, she was british alright) to get my WAP and MMS settings updated. ended up talking for about 10 minutes about how pricey mobiles were lol.

I have what was refered to as a premium number that was was awarded to top sales staff as a connection bonus and had no problem porting my number.

Interestingly enough I had a letter this morning regarding my request for my PAK number and if they could do anything for me. When will Orange learn by the time people request the PAK code they have already made thier minds up there going elswhere and probably got a better deal!
