    Nearly time to upgrade...

My 12-month contract with Orange comes to an end next month. As I mentioned on a previous thread some time ago, I currently have an SE K750i phone. I want basically a full-blown PDA phone. I also have a work phone that I use for all voice calls (business and personal) and that phone is fully expensed.

My K750i is only used at evenings and weekends (and when i'm on holiday) as I don't take work calls in my private time.

The phone is mainly used for international text messages and receiving voice calls. I hardly make any outgoing calls on it - perhaps 10 minutes of calls per month! I send 2-3 international texts per day though.

Hence, I need to see what Orange has to offer as I really want a PDA that can be used as a phone (as opposed to the other way around). Orange tend to be so far behind other providers in terms of the phones that they offer. In terms of PDA functions, full e-mail access would be ideal and things like a schedule, task list, etc., that synchronises with Outlook 2003 over Bluetooth or WiFi would be great. WiFi is essential as well.

I'm looking seriously at the Orange SPV M600. It has Bluetooth and Wifi and having seen one in the flesh it was not much bigger than my Nokia 6680.

It runs Windows Mobile 5 which is their latest rendition and has all the features you are looking for. It is the same as the Imate JAMin so flash upgrades etc are same (can unlock phone relatively easily)

In terms of email well it's got outlook on it which syncs perfectly (is that possible with a M§ product) with Outlook 2003, I made it do it with the instore notebook...

Would recommend having a look at it.

Only problem is stock is tight on it atm...

I would seriously look at T-Mobile - their Flext's tarrifs are seriously good value right now...

I'm not sure, but I have a feeling the p990 has wifi, though it is a phone that can be used as a PDA not the otherway round. Have you looked at buying a Pocket PC and a sim only tariff?

This looks like it would do the job. How do you 'write' stuff on the M600? Is it with a stylus?
