DAMN U!! My K750i seems to of died...

well, today i was just playin about with my sony erricsson k750i

and my gf asked if she could put her sim into it to check her msg's etc as her fones batt had died, so i turn mine off, put her sim in, goto turn my fone on n the screen lights up white like it does when it turns on, but this time it justs goes dead again.. i try again, this time nothing

so i put my sim back in and the same thing happens whewn i try switching it on, it seems it lights up once per battery removed if u get me...

is there anything u guys can suggest trying or anything??

or is it an insurance jobbie? which will suck as my nums are on the fone n not the sim damn im stupid!!!

oh i 4got to mention its on o2 if that means anything, though its always been unlocked to any network.

take a pencil rubber to the battery contact and to the contacts on the phone itself - its crass i know but worth a shot, its how I fixed my 6230 the last time, the rubber should get any crap off the contacts for you...

Ah the joys of the lovely, yet completely cursed, K750i. My GF's one started to play up about a week after the warrenty expired. Mine and everyone i know who has a k750i had problem with the joystick not responding.

I hope the K800i is an improvement, got a couple on the way.

My K750 does sometime suffer from a slightly un-responsive joy stick, but other tiems it is completely fine. Software seems a lot more responsive since i updated it the other week. Might help that i updated it with W800 firmware though

My SE K750i has locked up a few times in the last month, requiring the battery to be removed to reset it. I'm just over a week away from an upgrade so I hope it lasts out! I won't be getting an SE phone again, that's for sure!

hmm, every SE wner ive ever met complains about the joystick, i think its discraceful (my joystick was faulty aswell) but i could just about live with that. im goign to give o2 a ring in a min...

it seems the problem im having isnt unique (a quick bit of googling proved that) so i assume o2 are used 2 these things dying grrrr

OMG im so angry right now!! O2 didnt give a damn, the snotty indian woman on the fone told me that i had to take it to a phone shop!! WTF!! it came directly from u, u stupid arsehole!!! why would the link or phones 4 u care about my dead fone !! they didnt sell it to me i bought it online direct from O2 !!!

i just rung the link n they told me that as i didnt buy it from them they wont touch it (surprise surprise!!!) so the guy from the link said id have to take it to an o2 store or a carfonewarehouse repair centre, both of which are in reading which is a bus and then train journey away >:-( the reason i went online in the 1st place is so i didnt have to piss about shopping around.

my mum had an o2 fone that died and they just sent her a jiffy bag to put it in and they repaired it no messing about

    *edit*

ok, im a lil calmer now... i found a number for returns and the lady helped me out, im going to recieve an email apparently with a rma code or sumthing similar so i'll be posting the damn thing off then, *deep breathes lol*

Call 'em back. I have had to return phones to O2 before, they just sent a bag out. I take it that its still under it's 12 month warrenty? If so, they will have to RMA it. Thats thier responsibility under the law.

In theory, you could ask a shop to do it. But all they will do is send it to the same place. Also the phone woud probably be sent back to the shop after repair/replacement.

When you get the returns bag and send it, make sure you get proof of postage at the P.O. (it's free).

In the early days I did use the Update Service. However, latterly, the SE PC Suite does not run on my PC anymore! It causes an application error. TBH, i'm not really that bothered as the phone works most of the time and is going to get upgraded in just over a week.
