Does installing Apps/Games to another partitions slow down/speed up loading times?

    Hey guys,
Just wanted to know if you would notice a slow down or a speed up in load up times for both applications and games if you installed them to another partition?

With that, would windows load any quicker?

    Thanks

If the partition was on a physically separate drive you might get a small increase , but I challenge you to notice it.

Windows loading time will not speed up no.

Loading of apps in theory should be faster if loading from a drive other than the one your operating system is installed on. It would need to be a physically different drive though, not a separate partition on the same physical drive.

I always found it quite a good idea to install game sin a different partition, you will find it easier to defrag and keep clean.

If you also have Steam you won't need to download everything again if you need to reinstall Windows.

Steam has a backup function so you don't need to redownload all your games

yea, I already backup my steam gcf files. I dont use the in-steam backup, I just copy them over to my other partition
